Nov. 5 07 my hire date Nov.5 08 my fire date

I know this might not be the best place to ask this question, but maybe someone who was furloughed before can answer. I was furloughed on Jan 19th, and checked my 401k to see how bad Wall Street had ravaged it. I noticed Comair didn't waste any time letting them know I was furloughed and yanked my earned company match (I'm obviously not vested yet.)

My question is, if I was to be recalled would I have any chance of getting that money back?

Not sure what money you are talking about, but I'll assume it is the company matching funds. Since you are on furlough, once -and if- you are recalled, your seniority date will reflect all the time collectively -your hire date + furlough time + recall time-, and since it is the same company, yes you would get the matching funds. But only for those times that you were earning an income. In other words, company should match for all times except for your furlough time -no income, hence no 401k contributions-. Hope this answers your question.

I'm sure this was answered pages ago, I just don't feel like looking through them to find it. Does anyone know the max weekly unemployment benefits for KY?

Does anyone have an idea what it is for New York?

Max for NY is $405

Average seniority at that point is @ 17 years. That's 34 weeks of pay, for a 50-55 y.o. person, with quite possibly a lot of bills -still- and maybe kid(s) to help thru college. And on top of that, their "retirement" package/savings is in the dumps. Throw in a really bad economy where the prospects for a job -any job- are slim, specially by the fact they have been pigeon holed doing only one thing -flying- for the last 2 decades. Put yourself in that situation, and what would you do?. Th only ones that MAY consider taking this offer, are the ones with a second source of income. Another business, early good investments, income earning spouses, etc. This is a moot point.........time for a pool. I'll say 10 PILOTS will take this offer. Throw your number in the hat.

17 hours without a post. Can't let that happen.

Anyhow, here's a posting of mine from a few days ago. Anyone interested in throwing a number into the pool?.

Well, we are already up to 10 confirmed people now so we'll see what happens. I'll bet you have about 20 more next week.

We are?

I'm impressed. Was hoping I was really wrong here. Still, i'd take quite a few for them to call me back, so i'm not holding my breath here.

hate to put it this way, but when they were telling furlougees not to expect a call back, I don't think they were kidding. There is another displacement bid soon to come out sometime after Feb 2nd which will have more downgrades/furloughs. I doubt they are going to call you anytime soon. Just keepin it real. Sorry

Oh man, fo' shizzle?!?

I was being sarchastic earlier. I know we're not getting a call back. It'd be delusional of me to think so. Just hope -not holding my breath here either- that other companies turn around a little faster than "predicted".
