May I suggest Section 1 of the MAG CBA (recognition, scope, successorship and transfer of assets)? winglet (Talk about merging 2 disgruntled pilot groups!) Oh, and thanks "Tail-blazer" & "C-lover42" (no idea what the "c" stands for)! The heads-up on XJT was spot on! |

Hey, here is something I thought of today: Top 10 Reasons Why Delta Selling Comair Would Be Good 10. Comair no longer the "whipping boy" of Delta 9. No more base displacements, only to be moved again a few months later 8. We can stop pretending that NWA management is not running the show 7. Flying for other airlines 6. OH management can stop saying "We're not sure what our future plans are." 5. Maybe we could get a new plane once in a while? 4. Maybe we could actually have E-170/175 aircraft, instead of just having a pay scale in our contract for our imaginary Embraers. 3. Actually have a contract with Delta, instead of them dropping/adding flying hours depending on what they feel like giving us. 2. Possibly paint a few of the planes with exposed rivets so passengers stop asking if the plane is "safe to fly on". And the #1 reason why Delta selling Comair would be good...... 1. __________________________________________________ _ Here is where you fill in the blank! |

Do you mean the part about SkyWest buying TSA or the part about Compass merging with Comair or the part about all our planes going to ASA or the part about Comair being merged into Delta? And I think the only thing C-lover-42 (aka TrollBlazer's alter ego) has done is ask a lot of silly questions such as "Did anyone see this article that says Delta wants to sell Comair?" |

You have NO CLUE about my current employment situation. I didn't ask for you to feel sorry for me. So I guess I'm not missing much. Just like always you assume a lot are are wrong on most. |
Who cares? This industry is about as volatile as a Lousiana oil rig! When it blows up it's not good. The rumor mill has lost it's credibility. Look at the XJ/CPS sale? No one saw it coming. In my short 4 years at OH we have seen the good times and the really bad times. Finally the somewhat good times are returning. Can we at least enjoy that for the moment. I am sure it's short lived.
Beware Pinnacle and Mesaba cause we are coming to DTW. My prediction is we will rise to the top on performance numbers. On nice thing about lack of ACARS. We have been set up to fail at JFK and we always delivered despite the odds. So leave us alone. The moral of the story is get the hell out of the regional airline industry and move on to the majors. I think the bow will break in a few years. We are our worst enemies at the regionals. I commuted home on one of USairs old E-190's from philly today that Republic now flys. I bet I make more than that FO on that flight and I fly a CRJ with 50 less seats. |
