Nah.. I was in the January 16th interview group. The MD80 PCATD'S was a nerve tester, I remember that thing.

floyd78... Thanks for the info. Let us know how the oral goes and good luck on it.

trackpilot 04-13-2008 07:36 PM

Boy am i glad i'm all done with that stuff. I had fun and made a lot of friends during training but damn i hated it...
I just finished up IOE last week and now it's time to sit reserve. WOOT!:D lol
BTW i saw that they are closing down the Dayton airport hotel by '09. Good riddance to that place and Wilburs....

belliott 04-13-2008 08:55 PM

I am in the May 12th class as well.... look forward to meeting y'all.

xjtops 04-14-2008 11:57 AM

I also got the May 12th class date, it got bumped back from the April 14th class date.

Juneyah83 04-14-2008 04:57 PM

belliot....good luck in dayton! By the way, I was in your interview group back in march. Going to training in June. I'll give ya 3 guesses who this is, haha

xjtops 04-15-2008 04:49 PM

who all is going to be at the May 12th class???

ksatflyer 04-15-2008 05:17 PM

Hoooray for wilburs closing

floyd78 04-15-2008 06:39 PM

The oral went well today, now I am on vacation until Montreal on the 3rd. A note to all new hires...Study the info they give you before you get to class and study what they tell you when you get there. If you do that you will be more than ready for a successful ground school..They want you to sucseed and do all they can to make that happen! All you have to do is give 100 percent...Good luck to all of you and hope to see you on the line!

Later

floyd78 04-15-2008 06:41 PM

Oh ya, I am sad to hear that the Hotel and Wilbers will be a parking lot next year...Just kidding!:D

How's it hanging in the south?

bradeku1008 05-01-2008 06:14 PM

Was in the May 12th class, now in the June 2nd class. Cant wait to get back to Dayton.

ksatflyer 05-01-2008 06:46 PM

So are they cancelling the may class? I got a buddy who they say they will interview in May and Im trying to speculate possibly when I he would get a class if hired.

stanherman 05-01-2008 08:03 PM

Just put in an application with PSA today. Anyone know if they stopped hiring?or roughly how long it took most to receive replies with interview dates etc? Thanks

dwightkschrute 05-01-2008 08:11 PM

I heard from someone in the training department that the next class starts in September. I walked a friend's resume in a month and a half ago but they haven't called (even though I've "bugged" Lisa) him yet. I also heard they hired 30-too many people.

rickB 05-01-2008 08:32 PM

not hiring until june at the earliest

Flyboyrw 05-01-2008 08:34 PM

I have heard it is slowing way down even after they move the upgrades through the sim, I have been in contact with them since Feb. and haven't moved anywhere.
I am not holding my breathe.

rickB 05-01-2008 10:18 PM

my question is how on earth are they going to las vegas for the fltops jobfair when they arent even hiring? does that even make sense? same with a bunch of other airlines

Juneyah83 05-02-2008 07:05 AM

I was in the June 2nd class and got an e-mail last week moving me to the August class so I'm assuming that is the next new hire training date...I hope.

Blueskies21 05-02-2008 07:42 AM

So the question is, did they cancel the may class and the june class or did may push back into june. Wish I knew.

bradeku1008 05-02-2008 01:46 PM

I think that may got pushed back to June and June got pushed back to August. I feel bad for the guy who was going in april and got pushed back to May and now isn't going until june

TurboCheez 05-02-2008 07:16 PM

PSA recruiting

A friend of mine in management says a couple of the regionals are a little frantic and may cancel the Vegas recruiting gig. I think he said PSA was one of 'em.

saabguy493 05-02-2008 07:18 PM

Im still have yet to hear from them....

bradeku1008 05-03-2008 07:44 AM

I just hope they dont back my class in June to August. This is my last week at my current job and I was expecting to go straight into ground on the 12th. But I do have to say it will be nice to have 3 weeks off to relax before going into it.

Airwaves 05-03-2008 08:14 AM

I would say it is very poor decision making to have this be your last week at work, and I would try to stay on until a few days before going to class. Leaving one job, and not knowing about another is a terrible practice, and you'll be flat broke.

Yea, They told me I can stay on if I want the only problem is my lease runs out with my apartment and Im graduating college and moving back to Dayton on the 10th. My job is in Kentucky so I may stay with another pilot and fly for an extra 2 weeks.

Airwaves 05-03-2008 08:33 AM

Yeah, you aren't in class yet, and it's no secret they don't plan on having another class until September, from what I heard, down the line. Whether or not they are still having your class, who knows. They will be interviewing again in June.

bradeku1008 05-03-2008 08:40 AM

Yea I heard the same thing. In the e mail I got it looks like they are pushing everyone back one class date but who knows what is going to happen.

Airwaves 05-03-2008 12:43 PM

PSA may cease operating between now and then if LCC merges with another company, or liquidates due to the rising costs of fuel.

Do you really want to stop flying, and not be current when the worst happens? Seems to me you don't taking flying seriously enough, and it's still a game for you. I would keep working as long as possible.

Airwaves 05-03-2008 12:44 PM

That goes for everyone that's sitting in a hiring pool.

Dont take flying seriously enough? O...K... and you know this how, by talking to me a couple of times? On the internet nevertheless...I understand that you are an extreme enthusiast about our profession, which is great, but I do not think that it gives you the right to judge me. Especially when you do not know who I am or my life situation at the moment. In one week I may be without a home if I stay here, that is the real issue...but again you would NOT understand. So anyway; good luck with your career and happy flying!

MD11 05-03-2008 02:34 PM

Don't let airwaves rile you up... He's ignorant. Read some of his previous posts.

bradeku1008 05-03-2008 02:42 PM

Yea, already did and realized what a tool he is.

+1 why you would listen to someone that ignorant is just ignorant...

I wasn't attacking you, see my other thread in this forum. I don't care about your personal life. Other people read this forum, and think, hey this guy isn't doing jack for a month before class, I guess that's normal.

Keep current, keep flying, don't quit your day job. Low timers aren't pre-madonnas that these companies just can't afford to live without.

You said you were gonna have THREE weeks to relax before a class, THAT ISN'T happening. Where were you going to relax, all homeless .....anyways? You're making this too personal, and are being too defensive, and I haven't said anything about Riddle.

Any idea how many pilots are on the street right now? You are not a valuable commodity, and many guys will need a decent company like Comair, or PSA, to get that good flying, and upgrade while they look for something else.

+1 that trackpilot is my hero.

I'm not even allowed to make personal attacks on this website anymore. Just imagine I did.

OK, and who said anything about Riddle?

ksatflyer 05-03-2008 07:56 PM

I have hard time believe that PSA would just up and go down the toilet because PSA is wholly owned. Wouldnt carriers like MESA and Republic for example get cut from US Air before PSA or Air Whiskey went out?

belliott 05-04-2008 02:13 AM

Me personally.... I would kill to be flying right now.... my last company went out of business landing my butt on the street... I was banking on my class date but had it pushed back.... and no one out there wants to hire a guy that will be leaving in August (hopefully at least) for another company.... now I am not about to lie to someone about my plans/intentions with their company because that just isn't who I am or what I am about and I would love to be racking up more hours and have a job to hold onto if they push ground school back even further. I cannot tell you how to live your life but if you can/could work before going into ground school why wouldn't you.....

Trackpilot, I understand you are relatively new to the flying biz. Conventional wisdom says to align ourselves with successful people and we ourselves will become successful. On the flip side, align ourselves with idiots and we may become idiots. As for you and airwaves, maybe "birds of a feather flock together" is appropriate.

Back on subject... I am currently waiting for my training class to start and haven't quit my current 121 job. I will continue to instruct on the side and fly my airplane for currency. Btw, I have offered my aircraft to the poolies in my class to maintain their currency for the cost of gas because I know some of them haven't flown in a while,,,, not by their own choice.

rickB 05-04-2008 09:33 AM

i say sit on your ass and drink as much beer as possible until you start
