U CRJ900/emb175 people.....

When will you CRJ900 and EMB 175 people start negotiating new contracts and stop flying for low wages and the worst QOL. I just keep seeing all these bad regionals getting all this flying and cant negotiate a descent contract. Mesaba, pinnacle, and compass and skywest, oh and RP. all regionals are having a hard time getting pilots so why sell yourselfs for nothing now. its just getting worse and its sad if u think 11 days off is good with 22 buck an hr flying what should be a mainline airplane. and yes I work for a regional but one we wont fly 80 seat jets for crap. ok im tired of venting

only when they have been in the right seat for more than 5 years.... but hay 39 bucks is great right.....and now you have 14 days off!

Drunk posting is never good...

Mesa, Republic, and Pinnacle are in contract negotiations *right now*.

U People who don't know basic math...

United max FO pay on a 737 is $91/hr. Divide that by 122 seats on a 737 and that comes out to getting paid about $0.745 per seat.

United max FO pay on a A320 is $91/hr. Divide that by the 154 seats on a TED flight and makes $0.59 per seat.

ExpressJet max FO pay is $43/hr. Do the math... $0.86 per seat.

SkyWest max FO pay for the 50 seat RJ is $41/hr. That equals $0.82 per seat.

And that is a very limited sample. I left out NWA, TSA, MAG, etc.

Let's talk about the real issue... SkyBus CA = $70/hr. FO = $31/hr. Allegiant max pay is $108 and $56 respectively.

No one is happy with their pay, but I didn't agree to allow regionals to fly 66 seat aircraft (United) in my contract or 76 seat 900's (Delta). I have no desire to make a career at a regional. My favorite is allowing Mesa to operate 86 seaters. That is great scope on US Airways Union. Now US Airways is operating E190's for not much more than that. Do your homework son, it isn't the regional pilots causing this. And I didn't sign an agreement allowing this abuse until 2011 (Northwest) or 2009 (United).

Who do you work for that makes you too good to fly for a regional that actually gets paid as much per seat as a Legacy? I always understood more seats = more responsibility = more revenue = more pay? Hence, the per seat argument.

are you serious, thats soem good spin on numbers, Funny how you only used the 50 seaters. you gives a crap about seats, I fly a 8 seater and make 130k. that means nothing.

KiloAlpha 09-07-2007 05:04 AM

It means nothing because you are flying corporate dumbass... airlines are constantly analyzing CASM, and guess what, crew cost plays a role in that calculation.

I fly 40 (with seatbelts)....80 if we stick the hadji's on the floor.

I also drew a picture of a blue duck once.....it was quack-tastic!

Dude, look at the crux of the argument and post accordingly.

This is hands down one of the most poorly written threads I've ever witnessed. Perhaps you can provide us all with a proven business model and wages to go hand-in-hand with it. Do a little research before slamming various pilot groups. Example: Compass pilots did not negotiate the current contract. Mainline NWA ALPA did. Keep in mind NWA pilots were supposed to staff CPS originally because they had guys on furlough. Now go read a book!
