RAH upgrade as low as 19 months!

The new captain awards have been posted and the most junior award was a february of 2006 hire! Of course they dont go to class until january but 19 months sounds quicker than 23 months!

Keep in mind that guy is going to CRP on the CRJ. Not exactly a highly sought after position ;)

Left seat and double pay is left seat and double pay. 19 months? Not to rub noses in it but I said this a while back and everyone told me it wouldn't happen even though the numbers supported it. Hellz yea!

Its really too bad that "left seat" equals "double pay".

AT LEAST 60% of captain rates for FOs on your new contract or bust!!!

I hope we can pull that at TSA...but that'll be another 2 or 3 years...

Ok, so junior captain award was Feb 2006. What you all seem to forget is that there were over 500 pilots hired between then and now. Actually there were 500 hired between Jan and July of this year. Someone hired at RAH should expect 30-36 months for upgrade. Without addition growth, that number is based on the average of 20-30 per month in attrition.

Killer51883 09-08-2007 10:53 AM

either way 2 to 3 years is a heck of alot better than 8-10 like at some places...eagle

ScaryKite 09-08-2007 11:29 AM

all I can say is I was a march of 07 new hire, and I now sit only 400 numbers out of current upgrade! So with attrition and the growth to bring the pilot group up to 2300 by november of 2008. I am only 300 numbers away from upgrade based on november of 2008. So yeah if the attrition remains at 20 per month 300 numbers divided by 20 to 30 per month equals about 12 months from now. So march of 2007 hire beeing eligible for upgrade at the end of 2008 isnt too bad! I really wish I would have went to comair!
