From my experience flying both aircraft - I'd have to say the ERJ (LR's) were always the more likely of the two to be weight-restricted...haven't kicked a pax off the -200 yet, as opposed to the many that found themselves walking when I had been in the 145. Now I know the XR's are stronger birds, but I'd be hard-pressed to believe they don't sometimes have issues as well...

BTW, the -200 takes a bird on the beak very well...as I found out last night going into ORD!! Poor guy - nothing now but a has-been splatter ;-P

I've been at XJT since the 1st XR was delivered, longer actually but that's besides the point. Believe it or not, I had never been or heard of any weight restrictions on the XR. That was until a few months ago. But it took 50 pax, loaded bags w/heavies, a long flight to YYT at Cat 2 mins with 2 alternates, one of which was halfway back to EWR.

Sounds plausible...like I said - never flown an -XR myself :-)

No, you can't.

I can't believe you guys do EWR-IAH in a 145.
I'd shoot myself!

newarkblows 10-03-2007 07:48 AM

cheat with acars? yeah you could pop the circuit breaker and risk a carpet dance in the cpo because they can tell when you do that. other then that.... your still on and in when your ON and IN. i wish we could fudge it but no dice

Bloodhound 10-03-2007 08:05 AM

We don't fly IAH-EWR. CAL scope prohibits anyone but CAL from doing inter-hub flights. We do, however, fly IAH-xxx-EWR or CLE.

Any idea who holds the lease to the aircraft your company is sub-leasing? How about some investigating....;)
