I was asked straight up in the interview "if offered a position" which base would be my first choice... I told them... and I was given the certificate to match that base...... funny how that worked....

Well my response went something like this...
If I had a disagreement with the captain of a technical nature and it was not a safety of flight problem... I would not persist in debating or arguing about the subject, but would wait until a later time to gather printed data to support my argument.
Also, Mike Mancino performed my sim eval and he was great! He made me feel very confortable and seemed to be very interested in helping those that really wanted to get the job.

My high school shop teacher was important to me too.....not.
I agree that is what I did though. I told them I will fly anything and live anywhere, but I said I would really prefer the 145 on chq so I would have the posibility for the STL base. HR didn't really seem to have a problem with that and the interview went smooth sailing.

Yeah, Mike is a really cool guy. He did my sim eval as well, it seemed like we just carried on a conversation the whole sim evaluation. I hope he is doing my sims In St. Louis too.

in other words Microsoft FS version what ever is the flavor of the day, you know for such an outstanding outfit you would think they could at least get something a little more realistic if I remember right that is one picky PCATD oh well a Regional is a Regional is a Regional..I say that cause I cant think of any Legacy Carrier who evaluate using PCATD, The EMB family is a great one highly automated why evaluate a person on a PCATD then, Am I not seeing the Whole Picture

You know I did an ASA interview where I had to do a CRJ full motion sim at flight safety and Republics with the PCATD. Granted I passed both interviews and was offered a job, but being from a non-regional jet program background I felt that the CRJ full motion sim was highly unfair. To me the sims evaluate your instrument procedures where as ASA's interview was more evaluating me on how good I flew that sim for the very first time. Ever see a fat kid sweat in a candy store??? Well that was me, it was the coolest and the most stressful part of any interview that I have had.

Now compare it to a PCADT, where if you have flown any multi-engine piston aircraft you shouldn't have a problem (like the majority or regional applicants have). It is not intimidating, it measures the applicants instrument procedures, and is not nearly as expensive as sending applicants to flight safety.

I agree that Republic is an outstanding outfit (I held out and took the job with them); even though, they do have a fairly challenging interview, it seemed to me that they kind of tailored everyones interview to that person. Everyone I talked to after my interview had a different interview that I had. Thats how I perceived the difference between the sims though.

Hard to tell what's going on now with the mergers but definitely interview and take it if they offer. Go wherever then upgrade to whatever you really want in a year. Enjoy the 30 minute Limo ride from the airport.

I agree. I did that ASA thing too. Took me 15 min to just see the tail of the AC I was so far behind it. Was the first full motion for me but I got the hang of it and my sim partner said I shot a "awsome" hold and ILS. I think Republic is the place to be though .:) I am looking forward to get started on the fiiiiiiif of March for CHQ .:D

Cool, looking forward to it. Looks like there are about a dozen of us so far. I wonder if there will be more? I also wonder how many got the ERJ vs the CRJ? Guess we will find out soon enough.

im also in the emb class, a little amazed that i havent gotten any info on travel or anything of the sort. supposed to be leaving in two days and have no clue how im getting there or where im staying? anyone else having the same problem?

You might want to email Stacy and tell her that you haven’t received your hotel and travel arrangements. I got mine one week before my class date.

thanks man, i began to get curious last week and i called glenda she told me to expect something anyday. it seems any day has come and gone and still nothing.

I heard that between the last two S5 classes that have been awarded bases, 6 have received ORD, and the rest CMH/IND
