In the past, Mesaba has had a training contract, and has even enforced it, although the Union stepped in and put a stop to certain company abuses (like going after furloughed pilots! Boy, that sure put egg on some corporate faces).

They still have the ability and legal right to have one now. It is possible that they might have dropped it to improve pilot recruiting (before the instant upgrades..)

I'll try to find out about this. If anyone else has the true word on this, please fill us in...

I'm thinking this $12k contract must be for the street captains. I know I didn't sign anything that had the words/numbers $10,000 or $12,000 in the language.

Sig I'd like to see your source.

They probably make you sign it when they type you. That's probably why the FO's aren't seing it.:radar:

Could low seniority CA (Street CA) be reassigned to FO as pilots with more seniority begin to upgrade?

I'm no lawyer but it looks like all the of the above, for any Long term training event. It also states: Reimbursement of Long Term Training Costs will apply only if I have completed less than three (3) years of total service with the company, and such reimbursement shall be in the amount of six thousand dollars ($6,000), reduced by (1/12th) for each full month of employment following my completion of OE for the Captain position.

There ya go! CAPTAIN position.

I'd still be interested to know where a copy of this contract is located.
