Thoughts on ASA....

what are some thoughts on ASA. i know that they will lower my mins if i take the JET course through my university (from what i see/heard). I havent heard much about ASA as everyone usually goes to Mesaba, AE, etc.

build up your time & come to skywest...i used to instruct at wmu and no one there ever considers oo for some strange reason...theyre a great company.

I just applied to ASA last Friday, hope to hear back from them this week. But I know they just got a new labor agreement that has really increased their popularity.
Does any one know where ASA conducts their pilot training?

The new "agreement" is just tentative, and a lot of captains I have been flying with recently here at ASA say they will vote it down......we'll see. As far as training, Flight Safety for basic indoc, HQ for systems, then back to Flight Safety for your sim training. Start to finish (icluding IOE) is about three mos.

are they placing the new hires on the CRJ or on the ATR?

As a new hire chances are you will get the CRJ-200. They only have 12 ATRs. I start there a week from tomorrow, can't wait.

I dont graduate college until next may so I was hoping to get a head start so I can jump right into the airline. Dont know if they will call because I had it on my resume that I couldnt start until then.

They have started hiring more into the ATR. At one point they were doing about 5 per class

Are they 700 or 200 captains? Because if they are 700 captains thats understandable, they are getting i think only a 1 dollar raise. Most of the fo's and ca's i run into are going to vote for it.
