In most cases yes.

Even though airlines hold weekly meetings to makes sure the pilots are paid enought and lose sleep over their quality of life, they still are not going to give you credit for "time served" at another airline!!

Besides second year pay in most cases gets you close to 4 or 5 year CA pay at many regionals. Start saving some money!!

i think being good with a budget is a requirement in this industry. along with a solid emergency fund and other things of the sort. until you reach the end goal of securing a future with your dream airline can you think of spending frivilously (ie toys etc.)
