I thought it was a joke when someone mention it on the message board, until I got an email about it. This should be interesting.

As an outsider waiting to join the airline ranks I'm curious as to the reason. I would guess it has something to do with big plane little pay, or am I off base?

we have been in negotiations forever, everytime we come to the table management stalls, they disregard our contract every day and basically try to get away with every thing they can. They think that having a shiny 900 on the property is going to make everything better, but if they see a lot of people there with picket signs they should see differently. What is going to be akward is when the pilots who decided they were going to this party (which is ok, its their right too) show up and drive through the picketing. Its going to be almost like crossing a picket line, ha ha. Should be interesting.

We are not picketing the arrival of the new plane, we are picketing managements ways and we are trying different tactics to acheive our goal

Thats a good start guys. Why can't you just not bid the stupid thing?

That would put mg-mt. in a pickle! Good luck!

The company could probably just junior assign into the aircraft...it would actually work out better for the company as you would have the most junior people flying the aircraft (lower longevity= cheaper pilots).

And with all the Jet U and GIA guys there, they won't pass up the chance to fly the heavy iron.
