Downtown Chicago is nice... but it sucks in the winter, and it's really $$. Haha, I know Minneapolis isn't any better in the winter, but it's not that windy!
If you can't afford Chicago how will you afford Seattle?

You can get a nice (safe) place in Chicago (downtown areas of lakeview), one bedroom, for around 900-1500.....sell both cars as you won't need them, and there is 600-800/mth you can add to your rent payment, the cancel the car insurance, there is another 100-120/mth to add to your rent, now you got 700-1000/mth just by getting rid of your cars & insurance...........

Cause parking is around 150-300/mth in Chicago for one spot!!!!
