The "Big News" won't be announced until lat Jan or early Feb. Also It will not take affect until Jan of 2009, which makes me wonder what the year difference could mean.
edit: I just thought of something, nobody but the gossipers have said who it will be for. Why are you all so sure it is going to be SWA? It could very well be another airline. Also when is Expressjets contract up with CAL? |

Ya'll say you don't want to take "anybody else's flying," but you know its a dog eat dog world, and if it meant better QOL for you, you'd take it happily.
Btw pilots don't bid on flying managment does. So it doesn't matter what the pilots at skywest or chq or whoever "stole" flying from airline x. It will always be managment who decides why and where the flying goes. But i'm sure skywest will be blamed because we are not alpa even though we make more than most other regionals. |

I didn't say anything of the sort I just asked when xjt contract was up because I wasn't sure if it was this year or next year, because that could be what everyone is talking about and not SWA.

you are right. management will always be the one to decide whos flying they go after. and if its not illegal then the pilots have to fly it. but i would never take joy in watching one of my fellow pilots head back to the unemployment line and start their career over at another regional. when i hear about that i think to myself it could have just as easily been me.
Well said I have friends all over the industry. I would hate to see any of their families suffer due to their company losing flying. It would not be worth whatever benefit I got from receiving the flying to see my good friends fall on hard times. |
