Pinnacle must have gotten that Southwest flying and Midwest has decided to give the rest of its flying to SkyWay. SkyWest sucks, I am going to Mesa for the quick upgrade! Or maybe Great Lakes, they just opened a STL base.

It has nothing to do with whether SkyWest is good or bad, or any regional being good or bad for that matter. I'm not knocking SkyWest, if it appears that way, I am sorry. Its the idea that Southwest will give any of its flying to a regional, even a codeshare.

I am happy with my life, and pertaining to this thread I am happy with my job. I love being a pilot, I love going to work, I make all the money I want, love the people I work for and couldn't ask for anything more.

That's the problem with some people in our company. They are "set" financially or what have you because they (you) have a second source of income (Significant other as you clearly pointed out in a previous post). With that said people like you are satisfied with the money you are making, even though it is ridiculously low, because you dont need the money. That's fine and all but you should probably think about backing up your fellow pilots when they desire change and or a raise. Dont be so selfish.
We get it, you love your job, love coming to work, dont need the money, dont care about a raise, and are completely satisfied. I say AWESOME to you! I am all those things as well but I, unlike yourself, am not "financially set" and would like to see our management give us a bit of a raise. But when we have pilots like yourself who dont care about a raise or helping other pilots out, it makes that idea a bit more difficult

As a side note:

This whole Southwest talk is hilarious. Maybe I am wrong and will be proved wrong.....that's fine.....I just cannot see it hapenning. We cant even staff our own planes, what makes management think we can take on that many aircraft for a new partner?

Johnso,

I was just being a sarcastic and making fun of people who sell out chasing a quick upgrade. I didn't take anything you said in any wrong manner. I agree, no way Southwest farms out flying. Still mad about the stock. Why so volatile?

SkyWestPilot1 11-19-2007 05:47 PM

It's not farming out flying, its codeshare. That means our necks are out, our gas, our airplanes, our loss if (when) the airplane goes out half full. I'd be surprised if any of the flying we do with Southwest is on any of their current routes. What would Southwest have to loose if the flying we did with them was on new routes, or at least routes they have that are not breaking even because of lack of demand for a 73?

As far as when we hear,,,,,,, something has to happen first. I expect to hear something this week or next. Probably next because of the holiday.

It sounds like they were thinking E190, but have not made a decision yet. E190 is not as fuel efficient as the CRJ1000 is suppose to be, but its not out for over a year as far as I know. Over my head, we'll have to wait and see.

Too much talk around skywest for this all to be rumor, there is something big headed our way and it invloves many more airplanes. Southwest is just a guess someone is spreading around.

Cape air comment was funny! Skyway may be bidding on that as well!

I wish they would take all of that reality crap off of tv. What a bunch of garbage. My wife wastes her time watching that too, I tell her she should go to the gym instead...

My Girlfriend does the same thing. I tell her she should watch something "productive" like CNN or a debate which could have an impact on our lives down the road. All the reality crap makes me mad too. "Keeping up with the Kardashians" (SP) What crap
