SIC requirements: To be considered for the SIC position, you must have a willingness to provide extreme customer care, learn our reservations system (WorldSpan: System that major airlines use), airport checkin, ramping, along with being scheduled to fly.

and so, with a little too much aviation ambition, mesa 2 was born...

Isn't this the same company from Hawaii that pays $8/hr to sit right seat in their Caravans and sling bags and sell tickets in your off time?

Sounds like you're the reservationist, boarding agent, ramp agent, driver of fuel truck, ramp agent & Pilot. Bascially, you're the airline.;)

Better brush up on the CSR skills boyz.:p

Seriously though, if it works out for someone, all the best.

But why go there and do all that when half the regionals out there are hiring with minimums close to or just above this place. Oh and no ticket sales, ramp agent, fuel truck driving, or baggage handling? Would rather go somewhere else and I live here.

cfii2007 11-15-2007 03:55 PM

Yeah, I think it is the same company.

Lbell911 11-15-2007 04:07 PM

Wow their advertised mins of ttl 400-1000 is as high or higher than American Eagle's 400/50 mins.....or ASA (bridge program mins) of 300/25........at least at the latter two, you don't have to do reservations/ramp/and get to fly a shiny jet!!!!!

ChinookDriver47 11-15-2007 05:24 PM

HA! It is Pacific Wings! I dealt with the "Tsunami" aircraft all the time heading into and out of Lanai in Hawaii. Nice folks, they have an EAS contract for the islands.....something GO! hasn't been able to touch.

I don't think its Mesa V2.0. These guys have a great rep in Hawaii flying to the smaller airfields that are unservicable by the mainline and Island Air. They have their niche, work it well, and IMHO might not be a bad place to work to pick up some good experience. I think that the more mature lower time folks who may not think they are ready to haed to a regional would benefit from working all aspects of the flight from the ticket selling, to bag loading (good W & B Practice) to planning and conducting the flight. I bet it would be pretty satisfactory work.

Now, I just wonder what they pay.......
