Based on Boston. On line for four months...holding a relief line. Sat reserve for just two months. A friend in LGA got a composite line after a couple of months...but got put back on reserve because people below him kept transferring out.

And yes...you will get used on reserve. A lot. Good luck...

how often do new hires find themselves on "ready reserve"? is this common or are they usually just within two hours of the airport?

alpar80 11-18-2007 09:23 AM

How much are you guys blocking a month? 60-70hrs?

BigPropz 11-18-2007 09:54 AM

lines on the jets are from 79-90 hrs

JoePilot85 11-18-2007 10:15 AM

in LGA i had a reserve line for 3 months, but was able to hold a weekends off during it. Have had a composite the last 3, should be able to get a relief line next month. Ive done ready reserve maybe a dozen times since ive been here. I flew 60-80 hours with the reserve line and 85-95 with the composite

while i was on reserve in sju i spent most of my time on ready reserve. I ended up flying only 100 hours in the 3 months of reserve i did down there. Things will probably be different on the jet since they are technically differnt companies with differnt schedulers.

Eagle, I am looking Eagle very hard.On the EMJ, does ORD have many out and backs or 2 day trips? Also, is it true Eagle is sending folks to Flight Safety for a brush up,(Low Timers) I understand while there you are not paid, but is there per-diem?

Because of my complete and total bidding incompetence I am on S1 in BOS this month. I have flown a total of 9hrs so far this month.
