I catch your drift here..

Cant wait to see a certain Utah based company acquire the -1000's and ultimately keep the pay the same for -700, -900, and -1000 while supplying mainline with 100+ jets at a fraction of the cost. Great way to keep the pilot group healthy isn't it? Hope you enjoy SKYW enough to stay there for the rest of your life.

Very well said! I work at SkyWest and it amazes me when people have his mentality. But it's cool, because he is going to get his 1000 PIC and get hired at FedEx and be making 100,000 the week after hitting that magic 1000

flyingkangaroo 12-05-2007 01:26 PM

Over a year ago my pilot group voted in a BS pay proposal that wasn't even worth the paper it was written on (I obviously voted NO). It was good through 2011 but Mgmnt has now decided that they want to pay us more and is currently working to increase all of our rates by Jan 1st. Now show me another airline that would no that. They obviously don't have too but they WANT too. Not SWA, UPS or any other airline for that matter would think about such a gesture of good well until after their contract had expired. Yes the pay won't be what it should be but we’ll just have to keep working until it is and I’m in this industry for the long haul. Are you or are you going to whine and then cut and run?[/QUOTE]

HAHA yeah, ASA sheds the blood sweat and tears and skywest rides the coattails, they're only increasing your rates because ASA just fought for better! don't worry we will keep fighting for better and all you guys can just benefit from it! one day, it will come back to you, I promise one day they will stiff you and ASA pilot's will say we told you so. Skywest Inc's full intent is to make the two groups stand against eachother so skywest will never have a union and it sure seems to work when i hear things like this. Skywest's "goodwill" is a function of need, they need more people and they want to keep there pilot's no union. Hey if their sister carrier is making more then the pilot's might want a union to help them... anyways

Hey there, Scooter. This post would lead us to believe you were done responding to posts in this thread, but that clearly isn't the case.
The profanity filters prevent me from telling you exactly what I think of you. However, I can say that the opinion of somebody who puts TSA and GoJet in the same category is worth approximately as much as what I just flushed down the toilet.

No this was Mgmnt 101. Don't give up the house in case they vote the union in and if they vote it down reward them. This how they've stayed union free for 35 years. It was well played my Mgmnt regardless of whether it was right or not.

BTW, for all those who have short term memory, I voted YES for the 1000th time.

Now spin it. Say I'm drinking Kool-Aid! That I'm Mgmnt!

Thank you Jerry for paying for my move form PHX to ATL where my wife, myself and my little girl can be near our families.

Did your airline pay for your move?

No man i know you aren't infact i think you were the one who wanted the union the most on this forum. It just frustrates me the majority of the pilots at skywest think management is their best friends, It kills me that ASA gets just a little better and skywest will be matched, if both groups worked together we could get the best contract in the industry but ASA will only be able to get so much without you guys working with us, and trust me you will always get the raise after we do.

I agree, although SKW does have one of the best Mgmnt teams around, but we need a collective voice in order to keep them from whipsawing us. Without SKW being ALPA it’ll be impossible. Seeing we have no balls unless it comes to a union vote and then we collectively vote no. Sad!

As for the raise, no we will get a BS little raise to keep us non union and then a matching raise after we vote it down. Sad!

My dad used to say:

Arguing with a pilot's like wrestling with a pig in the mud. After a few hours you realize he likes it.

Also:

Old pilot don't die they just buzz off.

I guess both have there truths.

This thread has turned into monkeys throwing crap at each other, and it's great! I'm not sure If you can say this while working at a regional, however, I like my airline. Let the bashing start.

Where did this vendetta against SkyWest come from? Who do you fly for, if you don't mind me asking. I'm not into bashing other people or their job, I'm just trying to understand where you are coming from

Seeming since you both fly the CRJ, I'll venture out to say you both work for the non-union carrier, SkyWest.

I do fly for SKW. I answered your question, would you be kind enough to answer mine?

Who do you work for and why are you wasting the precious minutes of your life belittling others on an online forum? If you have something stimulating worth discussing lets here it!

Completely explains the anger issues as well as his vendetta against SKW and it’s pilots.

ghilis101 12-06-2007 02:44 PM

ahhh yes, the longstanding rivalry between Gojets and SKW :) jk

Rumor has it this deal isn't dead. Supposedly it'll happen pending a lower fuel price from SkyWest and the availability of NextGen CRJs. Maybe late 2008 or early 2009? That's the last I've heard.

It was a slow news day.

CHQ Pilot 02-24-2008 07:40 PM

Not likely to happen since the company has already Tentatively Negotiated that all SWA branded flying would be done by pilots on the SWAPA seniority list. There will probably be some pretty strong codeshare language in the next contract that would preclude any type of codeshare deal either.

SharkAir 02-24-2008 07:41 PM

Can I join the SWAPA seniority list?

Same thing I've heard. The fuel would be paid for by Southwest, the planes paid for by Skywest. What I was told by my source was look at a Southwest route map, then look at a Skywest route map. You then will have the idea where the planes (CRJ 1000) will fly at. I even asked him what the name would be? He said no name other than Southwest. No southwest express or anything else. Take this for what it's worth, at this point in time, NOTHING!
