I certainly could be wrong, but if I recall correctly I thought it was a % guarantee not a block hour guarantee. 85% of Delta feed in ATL had to be done by ASA, and Skywest was guaranteed a certain percentage of all DAL feed. As long as that percentage holds I think they can reduce the flying as necessary. Anywho, 35 RJ's are being removed from Delta service. The question is where. Also, they can't just add more 900's as Delta's scope clause regulates that. Plus they would have to be in the 76 seat configuration.
As for the CR9's, yes your scope does restrict it to 76 seats but 2 CR9's are better than 3 CR2's. No JSJ here, just basic numbers. |
S5 will be flying E175's with FC seating starting mid 08 out of ATL.

IMO, they’re probably going to cut less profitable CR2 (ASA) routes and add more profitable CR9 (SKW) routes.
Way to undercut your ASA brothers SKYW!! |

Yay!!! More CRJ900's flying around at CRJ700 rates!! It's easy to do when SKYW charges similar rates for 900 flying when compared to ASA's -200 and -700 rates.

Does this really surprise you? Its the only way for a regional to grow nowadays, sad but true.................

To think that one pilot group intentionally votes in a contract to undercut the rates of another airline is not accurate. Each pilot group is dealing with a different situation and (usually) different management under different circumstances and gets the most that they can at that time as determined by a majority of the pilot group. It aggravates me when someone I'm flying with says something like "There's (airline X) stealing our flying" and directing their anger towards the pilots when the pilots have absolutely nothing to do with what routes and for whom they fly.

Way to undercut your ASA brothers SKYW!! BTW, why would SKYW Inc try to undercut SKYW Inc? Now that doesn't make sense! Seeing that until ASA’s new TA goes into effect the SKW pilot group makes/made more in total compensation than the ASA pilot group does/did. Do you actually think that we at SKW sit around thinking about ways to screw ASA? Please, wake up, we’re all company now. Other pilot groups are so fed up with their current situation that they have to point they're fingers at us, a happy pilot group. I guess misery loves company and hates the happy. But we’re traitors right? Last I checked I never crossed a pick line or worked for Freedom A or GoJet. Ahhhhh but we are non-union? |
