yea...they basically stole us from the school...im think erau will think twice next time about having a job fair! haha

Jetjock87 12-13-2007 06:59 PM

i just hope this age 65 rule doesnt effect us much with having a job...

Atwoo155 12-13-2007 07:07 PM

I hope it doesn't either. It may help us though, as long as we keep the position we have now and move up within 5 or so years we might just make it on the next hireing ride up to the majors. Hey I can always hope right?

Jetjock87 12-13-2007 07:21 PM

it has proven to be in cycles....

Atwoo155 12-13-2007 07:30 PM

See you in Dayton....

Jetjock87 12-13-2007 07:34 PM

yes....see you in dayton..hey, are u aware if they are giving 2 weeks off between systems and sim training because of the back log?

Atwoo155 12-13-2007 07:51 PM

No I was not. I was told expect a week. Do you know when they will tell us what Base to expect? If they tell us at the end of systems I can use those two weeks to move.

Jetjock87 12-13-2007 07:54 PM

haha i have no clue...some from PSA wrote none going go CLT, DAY is an automatic if any, and TYS is just a tad bit (minimal time from training). Soooooo in other words, i really dont know.... haha

Atwoo155 12-13-2007 08:00 PM

I was told at the interview that they need people everywhere. But you know as well as I do to take anything people say with a grain of salt. I want TYS and would do almost anything NOT to get DAY.

Jetjock87 12-13-2007 08:10 PM

haha whys that? some inside scoop on the place? or just personal experience...?

All that will be seen though when I am up there for a month. Anyone that is from DAY or has been there for a while want to comment?

BTW Dayton is NOT terrible. And you have Cincinnati about 45min to the south. And i think Columbus is around 45min to the north.

Atwoo155 12-14-2007 01:47 PM

Trackpilot I am guessing you got a job with them too? Congrats if you did? When would you start?

trackpilot 12-14-2007 02:06 PM

January 7th.

Atwoo155 12-14-2007 02:19 PM

I will see you there. That is my class date too. When did you interview?

embryriddilin 12-14-2007 03:50 PM

I interviewed this past tuesday December 11th and have not heard anything yet, anyone in the same boat? Or has anyone from that date got hired yet?

It took a week for me to get my phone call. I interviewed Tues. Nov 20th(thanksgiving week) and recieved a phone call the next monday...but i missed it because i was instructing. So i got a voicemail saying to call her back. Chances are you will hear by monday. So far it is to my understanding that a call is made to you if you have it. Letter or an email might be the "too bad" answer. Make sure you have you phone readily available at that time... If you miss the phone call you prob wont hear anything until wed. because Lisa travels on Tuesdays.

Atwoo155 12-14-2007 06:56 PM

Trackpilot I was asking to figure out if you were in the same interview as I was. I interviewed on Nov 27th.

trackpilot 12-15-2007 05:56 AM

Nah it was towards the beginning of Nov.

The City of Dayton is horriable. But there are alot of nice places to live near Dayton. I am from a suburb of the Dayton and I can say that Ohio is a great place to live and there are alot of things to do. Low cost of living and if you are a golfer alot of great golf courses in the state. If you are looking at living near Dayton, look at cities like Centerville, Oakwood, Kettering, and Miamisburg. They are all really nice places to live and are all less than 30 min. away from the airport.

Atwoo155 12-15-2007 10:12 PM

Thanks Bradeku. I will use that information.

Jetjock87 12-16-2007 09:26 AM

INVERTED 12-17-2007 07:28 PM

Jan. 21st here! :D

gintasr 12-18-2007 06:07 AM

Have you all been studying anything other than the provided CRJ packet?

av8tr_2007 12-18-2007 06:13 AM

Which do you all think would be a better place to commute to from Florida? dayton or Knoxville? Which provides more of a city life?

INVERTED 12-18-2007 07:19 AM

I got with a buddy who went through training back in the Summer and he gave me a heads up on some additional info that would be helpful to know before training. Some of the info was the same as Lisa sent us, but he also said knowing the profiles and all the limitations for the 200 ONLY would be the greatest help. No need to memorize anything for the 700.. yet.

As far as bases go, I live in Knoxville with my family and love it! I grew up and have lived here all my life. I have been fortunate enough to travel around the country quite a bit and no other place beats the all around beauty and activities that the East Tennessee Region offers. Especially if you like the mountains for hiking or skiing. The numerous lakes along with the weather allow for all sorts of lake activities for a good part of the year. The downtown Knoxville area is changing as well, for the better. The "Downtown Revitalization Project" has been going on for several years now. The Market Square, Riverfront, Convention Center, Worlds Fair Park, The Old City, and the Univ. of Tn. Campus (GO VOLS!) are all within about 5 minutes of each other. A great place to hang out and enjoy life!

...........freak!........I sound like a commercial.............but its true.

:D

Just systems stuff. Can't really study flows or profiles since i don't know how they are done at PSA...

Jetjock87 12-18-2007 11:34 AM

if you had taken a jet course (ERAU) then i would review the profiles and flows from those books. I am sure everything will be very close to that.

The distillary is in Lynchburg, TN which is west of Knoxville. Well worth the drive though!!
