Well if I get hired the idea will be not to be an FO long enough to matter wether or not I get a line. From what's been said here I should be able to get into a captain class in 2-4 months without too much trouble. Like you said Mesaba reserve will be a big improvement in QOL for me, so if I have to spend a couple years on reserve that won't kill me. Thanks.

I got a rejection notice emailed to me! I figured I'd at least get to the interview by applying for co-pilot. I don't understand this. I met and exceed the qualifications for Co-pilot, by far. Could it be because I don't have my ATP written done or a current first class medical?

Well that's the plan now. Actually I've been studying for the ATP anyway, but I figured if they decided to hire me that I'd go get my first class, since I don't need it to fly freight, and my 2nd class medical isn't due til July. But I guess I'll just get it anyway. I didn't think they wouldn't even consider you if you didn't have those two. The only other thing I can think of is I don't have my bachelors degree either, but I didn't think that the regionals cared much about that. Other than that I have a clean record and more than competitive time. Any other sugestions?

Not true. Interviewing for street capt. with 1700TT, 600 multi-turbine. No ATP, just the written. However, I do have 400hrs SF3 121 time...

College degree is helpful but not required at Mesaba to get hired. Get your ATP written and the First Class Physical. I think it was your lack of First Class Physical. When you fill out the application, be very meticulous and make sure your hours all add up accurately. Try again. Good Luck.

Actually the app didn't even ask for specific hours, it just gave me some options to chose from, which I was the xxx amount+ on all of them since I applied for the FO position. I did attach my resume though, which had my hours on it, and they all add up the way they should. I'll get that ATP written hammered out, get my first class physical and go from there. Do these on-line apps get kicked automatically say if you didn't have your first class, or does a real person look at them? It just kinda blew my mind that someone with 600hrs might be considered to have better credentials to fit their needs that someone with 3,600hrs.

Red,

im definitely thinking that the lack of a first class medical is what screwed things up. i can't imagine you at least not getting an interview.

I don't know if the apps are actually looked at or weeded out by a computer. All the more reason to get that First Class Physical. It might have been an oversight or your lack of First Class Physical kicked it out. At any case, I think if you get your Physical and the ATP written and reapply, you WILL get the interview unless there is something in your application that raises a RED flag. Now is a great time to get on board at Mesaba so get it going.
