Unhappy 310J Accident in HHH

We got in at 10:30 and saw a 310J tail sticking out of a massive ditch.

Guess they pulled it out and it was wrecked. Hopefully not a future career airline pilot.

N310RV.

was the weather bad? That can be a sporty airport to fly into if you have to circle in bad weather there..... did it a few times in the ATR....both fun and challenging.

I've jumpseated into HXD on ASA and it's quite interesting! It concerns me bringing my airplane there! Good on you ASA and Piedmont guys/gals!

I've been in there a few times in the Dash....it's a lil on the narrow side and shorter side, but I haven't felt edgy or anything (except for the first time because of all the hype of it being so small). I think it's more an illusion than anything because of the trees surrounding the airport. Where was the 310...I'll be in there tomorrow. I'll look for it.

It's a fun place to fly into nonetheless. The Dash is definitely at home on runways like that.

Landing on 21 look 2/3 down the runway. It was in that ditch. When you fly in tomorrow grab a local paper in the terminal about it. They wrote about it on Saturday.

Heck I loved flying the 42 in there and into Key West..... but then being an old Herc driver... short narrow dirt strips was our specialty..... peacetime we would shoot "assaults" to a 3000x60 foot strip.....paved or dirt...it didnt matter. Fun times.
