Ooh, what about the Diamond Twin Star? That burns jet fuel.

I agree Tprops are great and I am glad I didnt go right into a jet, however, I have 650 tprop (440 SIC, 210 PIC) and I do have SJS.

As has been stated in numerous other threads.. with age 65 now in effect, you may be spending quite a while at your "stepping stone" company. Choose wisely.

If you took the SIC position, would you also get international? i.e. Canadian, Mexico, and Caribbean.

BigSky pilots in the past have flown internationaly to Canada and the Caribbean including Hati.

I would be wary of taking a job at a company that only operates small t-props (like 1900's) with the intent of getting 1000 PIC and moving on to the majors...you are far more likely to find yourself moving on to a jet regional in 3-4 years

From BigSky, our CAs have been going to AirTran, Alaska, Northwest, Spirit, Southwest, and others. I would say that only about 1 in ten Captains that leave BigSky goes to another regional. Most likely because they don't have enough PIC to go to a major.

At BigSky, that may only mean you have to taxi a few hundred feet.

With all this being said, it looks like a lot of people are starting to leave BigSky (including F/Os) to go where ever they can. First officers that were going to upgrade within a month or two are interviewing at places like Republic and Horizon. Things were really going well for a while in BOS (July-August), but have rescently taken a steep dive. I would hesitate in recomending BigSky to a friend.
