Default Comair or Eagle??

Shortly after New Year's I have interviews with both Comair and Eagle. I respect a lot of you guys/gals opinions so I'm asking which one you would choose if faced with the decision. Obviously I will have to get an offer from both to have a decision to make in the first place, but in the event I do, which will offer me the most in terms of lifestyle, cost, stressload, COL, upgrade, etc.? Thanks in advance to everyone who takes the time to provide insight

Both are about the same QOL-wise it seems, so really it's whatever is better for you. Think about bases maybe, or if you have to commute whatever would be easier. Neither are the greatest to be at right now but if you're looking to get some 121 there are also worse places to go. Good luck.

eagle interview is exactly as gauged. i got asked 121 currency requirements all the way down to what has to be covered in recurrent. they are big on rvr as well. as to comair vs ae, my buddy and i were talking about this earlier..........

since the majors (dl, ua, co, fedex, ups, ect) are looking for jet (transport category aircraft) time and pic turbine some people go to ae for example, get their sic turbine in the jet and get their atp mins. (assuming 500 pic ect is met) since ae's upgrade time in an eternity they then go to a place like mesaba, big sky, ect who are hiring off the street capts and then they start logging pic turbine right away (and it doesnt matter if its in the 1900 since they got their transport category experience at ae, comair, ect.) after a year or so they have the time for the majors. correct me if im wrong in this scenario. i heard through the grapevine that a gulfstream guy did this and got hired at continental on the 75/76 at like 24 or something.

point is i think bottom line erj/crj/b1900/saab/atr time beats c172 time. i have friends at both ae and comair and they both like it. eagle does let you pick your own base though if living close to home is important.

Eagle, not just because I got hired there, but Comair seems a little, well check out the Comair updates thread.

Comair....because the worst upgrade here is 5 years after much downsizing. I just jumpseated on Eagle and talked to an FO that was finally upgrading after 8.5 years with the company. That's awful.

Thats my plan here at Eagle, and there are many other FO's here doing the same. I've heard of a few more senior FO's here going directly to CAL too.

Anyone presently at comair know if they are going to be training new hires on the -900s or will seniority determine who wins the bids? Also whats it like living in JFK -- driving to work, COL, etc.?

I'd probably go to eagle since they need a lot of pilots and not a bad contract. I have a feeling with the movement and the fact that the parent company wants to get rid of eagle the upgrades aren't going to be 5+ years anymore. Still don't base your future decisions on upgrades, you will never know actual upgrades since it's a guessing game into the future.

Belt is bad at like 5 o clock, I drive to work....80 miles.... its not bad, I just bid early morning windows and I get there in an hour 15......... however if I have a reprt during rush hour I do allow like 4 hours just in case.... Still id rather drive to work and sit in traffic on the belt than be a commuter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
