Tinpusher, it definitely isn't all doom and gloom. This is still the greatest job in the world bar none. My window seat has given me spectacular views of the space shuttle orbiting overhead in the twilight sky, views of active volcanoes in Central America, northern lights, etc. I've also enjoyed putting my feet in the sand down on a beach in the Dominican Republic when there's a blizzard back in JFK and most importantly flying with the greatest people you could ever meet. When it all boils down to it, we all got into the industry because of our passion for flight. Sometimes its easy to let politics and emotions play into things. I'm as guilty as anyone here. But in the end, we are pilots and its the profession and people I will always want to defend and support.

Live the dream brother. Let me know how it goes.

That was awesome. Is that some generic Muzak or a real song?

The song was by yours truly using a loop based software package (Adobe Audition) it just seemed to fit that clip.

Wow, really well said!!! (Luckily, I'm not on the side that has to set the Saab parking brake yet...)

Outstanding. Wasn't that on the Express Airlines MX ramp?

Yeah, that was Express mx ramp. I guess they didn’t feel like putting the chocks in. Ghost ride! I flew the Saab for 4 years and I can honestly say the park brake would only stay set 25% of the time.

My only gripe is it needed about 25% more power and an APU for those hot summer days.

Those hot summer days were the worst, I would have to unbutton the shirt and roll my pants up to my knees.

Touche Rook. You are right. I'll clarify, I wish they had built Part 25 passenger jets. I envision it would have been tough like the L1011 and be underpowered like a DC10-10 series.

Apparently the Swedes didn't envision temps above 70 when they built it. Fly through any kind of ice though. Funny though, the corporate version had an APU.

As far as I know, there are only two SF3's in the world with APUs... boy that'd be nice. :)
