Default Rumor Question About Mesa

Since I've got my ratings/license, while working as a F/A, I've been talking, asking questions, to every OMC we have. Several Mesa guys stated there is a "big meeting" Friday, and the board of directors are suppose to be going over all the finacial stuff of the company, and that they are going to ask (or he is suppose to announce) Johnathan O. to step down....anyone know any true facts?

Not sure if "rumors" are allowed to be posted, I read over the "forum rules" it only says don't post nudity, profanity, or commercialized stuff......but if it's not allowed, feel free to delete the post.........

The only "FACTS" I could find was indeed there is a meeting as this press release indicates below:

Every corporate BOD under jurisdiction of the SEC has a fiduciary responsibility to speak to shareholders simultaneously (typically via press release) when such an announcement could affect share value. Earnings calls and announcements of change in executive structure are such calls. You won't see any thing but rumors til tomorrow.

Sounds like a great company...Regional Airline of the Year. Wonder why they have such high turnover...hmmmmmm.

My vote: Rumor. Didn't they just give the guy a contract extension? Hope I am wrong, though.

Yes, a 3 yr extension? What were they thinking? Did he hold a gun to their heads?

We can only wish and hope that the Mesa Board of Directors would have the smarts to get rid of the worst part of that company: the CEO.

I think the part about non-public disclosures is just legal CYA stuff. Analysts will be asking questions, and the answers from management may contain information which has not in the past, nor will in the future be in any company press releases or SEC filings.

Mesa is attributing the delay for the 10-K filing and conference call to accounting issues from the divesting of Air Midwest. This is possible. They may also need to redo some statements and estimates to account for the ruling against them in the lawsuit brought by Hawaiian.

He knows where the bones are buried... he will go down with the ship if he has to. That is the way I have heard he negotiates. Blood and destruction all the way. I don't think he will be going anywhere. There was some guy who harassed some flight attendants... as the story goes, MAG was sued and lost a couple of million. So they demoted the guy for a couple of months and then put him in charge of Midwest. Sound familiar? Yes, the Murnane/HAL lawsuit and China dealio... raised eyebrows anyone?

Oh, and besides, if he steps down that would be the best thing that could happen to him (golden parachute) AND it won't change much around here for a long time anyhow. Upper and middle management has a lot of bad eggs... Ok, enough doom and gloom.
