I'm very impressed that folks at SKW in their first year can credit over 1000 hours EXCLUDING 6-8 weeks of training pay, even if it is under the most ideal possible circumstances. Proof positive that there is more to compensation than just hourly rates...

WILLT if you get into SDF lemme know and the beer is on me...

Our training pay during those 6-8 weeks has a credit value that applies toward the yearly total.

I spent 4.5 years in SDF (Westport Rd out past the Gene Snyder) and I'm currently there now (in J-Town until the Jan. 2nd). It's where my sister and her family lives and I usually spend X-Mas or New Years with them.

I'm a big fan of Louisville and I always look forward to visiting.

I would guess that most newhires as of right now could probably expect quite a bit of time on reserve, just judging by the fact that it has been about a month and a half since the last newhire class started (most junior hire had a class date of 11-19-2007), which is quite a contrast to how it used to be a new hire class every two weeks. While the hiring machine has traditionally slowed down around the holidays, all the signs are pointing in the direction of very minimal growth and attrition, at least for a while. The most current upgrade class on the CRJ has also been cancelled. So, I would predict a slowing in the hiring, and upgrade times to increase significantly from what they were 6 months ago. But as we all know, things can change very quickly, so let us see if the new years brings us any major announcements.

I thought someone else posted a training plan showing around 20 new-hires every 3 weeks for the CRJ, and around 10-12 every 3 weeks for the Bro. Have things changed much in the last week or two at SKW?

In the last 2 years it's been every three weeks, not enough classrooms and instructors. Basically they start Indoc during the last week of systems for the class before them. The next week they move into the two systems classes (as the class before them departs) to begin the 3 week systems portion of their ground school. Once they move over, the new hire classroom doubles for EMB 2 week ground school, recurrent, Check Airmen grounds and meetings during the two weeks of dead time it has between Indoc classes (the end of one to the beginning of another).

Thank's for the info. I'm not coming from MESA, I'm coming from (Skyway, d.b.a. Midwest Connect). One more question what is the most junior hire date for ORD, MKE.. thanks guys

You won't have any problem getting into MKE/ORD...two months out of training you'll be there - if not originally awarded one of the two.

Thats still the case. They need to hire 200 more f/os to be have the staffing they want for the current flying. Keep in mind that in 08 we already know we are getting 4 more new delta 900s and 8 midwest planes for a total of 8 growth airplanes. So thats why they still are running CRJ upgrade/newhire classes.

I just don't see how this statement is accurate right now. Don't get me wrong, I would love the growth to continute, but we have already been advised that our Delta flying was cut slightly until May, United flying remains flat, and minimal growth from Midwest. No upgrades for the CRJ have been awarded for January (so they are NOT running CRJ upgrade classes as of right now, however, the EMB upgrade class is still scheduled to go. They are in the process of awarding a February class right now, but not sure what position/equipment it is for). Last newhire class on any equipment was mid-November. Also, did anyone not notice how many reserve lines there were for DEN, SLC in December? Like 80 something per base (at least on the captain side)? This sure doesn't sound like we need another 200 FO's for our current flying. But hey, maybe they will rework the details of the Southwest deal and we will get a CRJ superbase in SFO afterall :D (and then I woke up)
