Default Skywest Pilots first year pay

fellow pilots, I'm curious what a 1st year FO averages a year. Especially with the ORD base flying. I know its 19.25/p.h. x 75 a month. But, what are the lines like for the chicago flying. Also, how long should a new hire anicipate to sit reserve at ORD. I live in chicago so I'm looking for the Chicago guys, to help me out with this. Can you break 30K the first year?

Thanks for your help.

Expect to sit RSV for a couple months in ORD. If you work hard and play the system, even at $19.25, 30K is certainly attainable. And w/the new payrate I would assume it to be very easy!

Edited to say the Lines are varied...way too varied to respond on the iPhone - somebody else can tackle that LoL

Your approach is all wrong. What you really need to do is work the system so that you can have as many days off as possible, enabling you to work at a real job. Thanks to the miracle of SkedPlus+ January will be my third consecutive month with 18+ days off. In fact, next month I have 19 days off and still credit 82 hours.

You do realize that one would have to earn 1558 hours of credit in their first year to earn $30k? Even with $5k in per-diem included in that figure, you'd still have to learn almost 1300 hours of credit in your first year - after a "couple months of reserve" AND two months of training.

Is that really, realistically possible??? If so, how many days would one have to work to earn that much?

And w/the new payrate I would assume it to be very easy!
What's the new payrate? Did you all get your pay package ready for the start of 2008?

I didn't work too hard and I grossed $28k first year (with per diem). PBS gave me about 95-99 hours/month...12, 13, occasionally 14 days off per month in DEN. I didn't drop much and didn't pick much up.

Hope that helps.

You've got many brothers here, too (assuming AMW 1900). Consider asking them how they like it here vs. Mesa.

What is the possibility of getting SMF as a domicile? I am thinking of applying in Feb.

It may take you awhile - but not quite sure how the Bro-reduction is really going to play out...there will most likely be a reductionin Outstation-basing...

Most junior CRJ FO in SMF DOH 1/1/2007
Most junior EMB FO in SMF DOH 5/7/2007

Boiler (whats up man, its WVH), for what its worth, from my DOH to my one year anniversary, I credited just shy of 1200 hours, not including any per diem or training pay. Of course, the grain of salt is that I didnt sit any reserve and there was plenty of open time to pick up at time and a half.

B1900YX, welcome to Skywest, we're happy to have you, you'll be a lot happier here than Mesa (assuming thats where you're coming from..)

Experimental, you're posting on APC from your iPhone? get a hobby man! haha.. j/k

My first year at SKW I grossed $28,518 with 0 reserve, crediting 1274.4 hours and with just over $4K being in per diem; second year my W2's will state almost $52K. You could easily do $30K but you need to live in domicile. Once our new pay policy is in place $30K should be easy with around $35K being possible if you live in domicile and are willing to work the system.

IMO, $52K shoud be what a first yr FO at the regional level shoud make, I'm sure you'd all agree.
