PSA Interview Jan 8
Anyone else going to CLT for PSA Interview next Tuesday?
|
Just curious...what r your times? Background etc...
|
975 TT / 55 ME
CFI -A, -IA, -ME Live in NE Georgia and would probably drive to/from CLT to start trips. |
PM me if you have any questions. You will need to make some more posts first. For starters, you can forget about CLT. Hope you like DAY or a slim chance on TYS.
|
I'll be starting class on Jan. 7th. :D
|
Hey, me too!:D
|
See you all sunday in DAY!!
|
johnpeace you are way overqualified for PSA
|
I guess you could say he's over Q'd for any commuter/regional, he should apply to a mainline Co. or Net Jets?
Good luck John, and everyone else interviewing! Be yourselves! JP, Catch me on PPW. |
johnpeace you are way overqualified for PSA I guess I'll apply for the next space shuttle mission then. You think I could make mission commander or should I ask for second in command? I mean, hell...I do have my MEI and all...I even flew a King Air once. ...anyway. For starters, you can forget about CLT. Hope you like DAY or a slim chance on TYS. The whole point was an airline with a base I can drive to. :( |
I work at PSA. Its alright but the sched's suck BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Try and get on with Republic first. You'll wish you did when you park next to those 170/175's. Better sched's, airplanes, bases, pay, bidding, shorter upgrade. PSA's upgrade is coming down but it's not at 2 years yet and that's what a few Republic capts told me the upgrade was on the 170. The only reason I don't is I don't feel like going through training again when I'm already buliding jet time.
|
Upgrade not quite down to 2 years yet. I have been here for almost 3 and can't say when it will happen....March...April...
I would only come to PSA if you live in one of our bases. Otherwise look for a regional airline that is closest to home. Being owned by a major airline has its drawbacks. The only advantage is that you get a higher priority when you are jumpseating on your parent airline then some republic pilot. But that is it. Management wanted to bring 900's to PSA but they didn't want to pay us any more than what we are currently making. In your first year you will make under 20K at PSA. Now tell me who is being greedy? Anyway don't come here looking for a quick upgrade. Our schedules suck. After being here 3 years i rarely get 12 or more days off. This month i got 10. |

When I interviewed there they told us to expect to make 23 to 24k in the first year... I guess I'll find though;) |

Awesome! Better bring some de-icing fluid and chains. j/k
Remember what I said about keeping it on the DL. ;) Also, I hope you have those items I sent you memorized. |
"Um, DAY won't work.
The whole point was an airline with a base I can drive to. :(
" It will be VERY hard to get initially. Hopefully we will be able to bid into it in a few months or so. However, welcome to forever on reserve with three hour sits in between flights. |
Helllllllooooo Kitty :D
|
Make sure that you guys go to www.mypilotcareer.com and www.aviationinterviews.com and get the gouge and know it well before you go to the interview. Also, be yourself. Thats my advice.

In your first year how will you make under 20k? You get paid $23/hr with 75hr guarantee and anything over that is time and half; and if you rarely get 12 days off a month, that must mean you can work a lot to make more money.
When I interviewed there they told us to expect to make 23 to 24k in the first year... I guess I'll find though;) As for the pay...Figure $23/hr for 72hrs a month. You will be on reserve and this is the minimum. When i sat reserve 1.5 years i rarely flew over 72hrs. Most of the time i was around 70. Although one month i only flew 3 hrs. Anyway figure $19872 for the first year pay plus per diem. More then great. But i like to go to the bank on worst case. |
Just stick with the memory items for now. It's too late for you to get down anything else now. When you get here, 4a of the POH. CA originating. Start memorizing that ASAP. Don't wait till after Indoc.
If you don't do this you will pretty much be screwed |
I had to postpone interview due to exams on the same day.
Maybe I'll see y'all next time if NASA doesn't call. |

Seniority is everything and who knows how much longer this hiring spree will go on for. Let me know if I can help. I would be VERY HAPPY to give you a LOR. :D BTW, make sure you all request a fridge. There is a class of FA's comming in so there will be a fight to get one. Trust me, you don't want to eat at Wilber's everyday. Also, stay FAR away from the FA's. There have been some crazy incidents recently and there are camera's everywhere. |
REALLY??!! That bad?!
And what kind of crazy incidents recently? and there are cameras everywhere!?,,in our rooms too??
Yeah in your rooms...funny. Actually, not really.
I'll leave the details to your imagination. You must be one of those 200hr wonders with a bridge course. j/k |
You are good!! Did I give it away?? And how's the FA in PSA like? ;)
