RAH Recruiting Events

Do the recruiting events with Republic require a sign-up or are they walk-in?

hoser073 01-02-2008 07:44 AM

Also, how low time has everyone seen? I just got a thanks but no thanks email... If it helps I will go face to face. 450TT, 350 multi turbine, all military... 3 type ratings

HercDriver130 01-02-2008 07:51 AM

average time 1300-1500 in our class at Shuttle. Several with over 2000. do know of a person hired and completed sim with less than 400, but thats not the norm....at least in my class. its about 40% prior 121, 20% freight, and 40% CFI's.

Go to a job fair. You probably got weeded with the filter, but I'm guessing you are more than qualified since I know they are hiring CFI onlys with that time. Also get ahold of KD directly and fax over your resume. Make sure you highlight that your time is military time, hence the lower numbers. I'm gonna say if you can get through UPT, you can probably handle RAH's training programs.

Nice... I don't know much about their HR, any help with a number/names would be great! All my Gurad buds are at PSA, not so much what I'm looking for, rather be somehere "good" relatively speaking.

It'd say give the recruiting event a shot. I know some of the lower time guys get through the system a little easier that way.

As long as you're personable, a face-to-face is the best way to get a Job...

I got a call from Glenda Carter today.

She asked me about my flight times (I submitted a resume several months ago). When I told her I was up to 975/60 she said to definitely give her a call when I get to 'about 80 hrs' of multi-engine.

ExperimentalAB 01-02-2008 01:44 PM

That means call her again pronto - don't wait...'cause you'll be learning soooo much about Flying a Jet with another 20 hrs in a Seminole

well if you work for s5 or any of the RAH companies and have been in The kind crew room! No s5 FA would ever want I actually fly! They might but the cockpit might be "too dirty" for them!

Thats why I have bids in for RP and RW captain!!!!!! Not that there's anything wrong with that!!!!

Is anybody here going to the open house tomorrow in CVG? What goes on at these open houses? I have been to job fairs, but never a one airline sponsored event. I have 625/135. Still low for Republic, but why not show face....

I worked a college job fair with Kim and she seemed to be more likely to waive the TT if you had the 100 multi. FWIW. Certainly won't hurt to show up!

A friend of mine went to one last month-ish. You'll be shown the Company video, take the infamous Wonderlic test. Then you'll go onto the written. The stuff on aviationinterviews.com is pretty accurate. After that its the HR. Sometime the next day he got the call to interview in KIND. He got the job. About 1200tt/ 45multi.

Hope this helps.

So you're saying they go through the entire interview process at the recruiting event and then you have to do it again in IND if you get invited?

No, they save the technical interview and sim for IND. Makes for a short day there.

Well apparently this dude felt it was his second calling.......

Jetjock65 01-06-2008 09:32 PM

Do they do all of there fingerprinting/pee-pee testing and everything at these events after the written or once you go to IND ,not that it matters just curious as I have a clause in my contract at a prvt company that kinda states that doing these 2 things is kinda like accepting an offer from a company-cant accept any offers while under contract. very dumb I know but one of my buddys got fired and lost his last months pay for doing this.

cbire880 01-06-2008 10:00 PM

They usually do those things at new hire day one. You should be safe.

Jetjock65 01-06-2008 10:05 PM

Thanks- yea dont wanna lose 5k for taking a **** to early lol lol
What Cert are you on ?
how ya like it?

HercDriver130 01-07-2008 12:50 AM

**** test and fingerprints on day 5 for us....... we were on the NIGHT shift and certainly didnt want to inconvenience the HR folks in Indy.

icedawg8 01-08-2008 01:43 PM

do you need to have all your paperwork in order at the open interview?
