SkyWest - Lost Campaign
#21
I don't think you understand a couple of things. The threats you speak of are NOT collectively controlled by a unified group and therefore not able to be used as true leverage upon management.
Anyways, please don't take this as an attack on you or on the Skywest pilot group. I just wish that more of them understood these things.

Thesse statement should have been the clue:
Yes SAPA has no true legal leverage but the threat of the many things gives them more leverage then you would think. BTW, everything we have here at SKW is the result of "good faith bargaining" and has been so for over 35 years. Mgmnt has continued to respect us and now that the ALPA drive has failed I must join in the faith and pray it never bite us.

Remember that even GoJet has "adequate, good, qualified employees." This statement has no merit seeing that every carrier must obtain at least this to operate. SKW (as I'm sure SWA & XJT do) understands that maintaining levels far beyond that of adequate or good results in outstanding performance which intern has a large indirect effect on the “Bottom Line;” and as we all know the “Bottom Line” is what Mgmnt and their shareholders care about.
We work hard for our airline and they reward us. Yes it could and needs to be more, but it always can be more.

Honest curiosity: in what way are the pilots making a sacrifice for the branded, Delta and charter ops?

Did they take pay cuts as well as a decreased in QOL? They’re still on the same TA as COEX pilots, right? But the opening of new bases must be a sacrifice?
As I see it, it a company risk not a sacrifice! So what "sacrifices" have you made for the branded, DAL & Charter Ops?

Let's name the airlines that have a good to great Mgmnt/labor group relationship: SWA, XJT & SKW. Hmmmmm? There might be a few others but 95+% of all carriers have poor relationships and extremely low moral.

We are all on the same contract and of course there is a group grievance on all of this. Management has acknowledged they have violated the contract in these regards and are now just negotiating how to make the pilots whole. The pilots have been very patient with the company on the remedy and have lived with it since April although some pilots have either gone back to their old base or decided not to come out to the new bases until all if this is settled.
So, yes, there are sacrifices being made by those pilots everyday especially for those of us who were used to CCC/CMS.

Nevets, I think we're on the same page.
Best of luck in 08 and I've always pulled for you guys. XJT's one of the few quality carriers left and I'd hate to see them fade away, although I seriously doubt they will.
