Have anyone heard of Flight Express? I am looking for a job and this may help build some time. Someone recommended them to me and I thought I would give them a try but I just wanted more info and experienced thoughts on this company(or others similar). Here is there website. Thanks in advance for your help.......

What are your times? Where do you live and where are you willing to live? There are several outfits looking for people. Many of which you never hear about on the internet.

I was at Ameriflight 10 years ago on the B-99 and it was a descent outfit.. You give them a look too..

There seems to be a lot of help / knowledge here, so I am sure you will find a good fit!

Cheers,

BC

Flight express is a good outfit to work for I was there for almost 2 yrs after 9/11. The only bad thing about them is that you are going to spend 6-8 months flying the 210 before you get any chance of getting to a twin. Right now with the way airlines are hiring it might be better to try and get on with one of the many regionals out there unless you are really low time.

Their website is saying their mins are 1200TT.....135 mins. Doesn't really sound like a "time builder", since regionals are hiring with such low mins...

What kind of time do you have?

My times are really low. about 300TT and like 50 Multi. I live in South Florida and want to work for the airlines. Just concerned that my times were extremely low would play a negative part. Just trying to keep all options open.

As ImperialxRat said, you have to have 135 PIC mins in order to fly for flight express. The same is true of Ram Air Express, although at some point I heard Ram Air was accepting folks with 500TT and flying the non-135 legs under Pt 91. Not sure if that was true or just a rumor. Ram Air is based out of RDU.

Flight Express and Ram Air do a lot of serious IFR, all single pilot. They're great places to get multi, but you should be comfortable at night in IMC with t-storms in the summer and icing in the winter.

Not to hijack this thread but, I’m looking around in the same area (FL) and ran across this company... it doesn't look too bad...it doesn't look like there is much info on them on the forums...

anyone know of other 135 operators that would have some small stuff but also something turbine to upgrade into eventually in the FL area...any suggestions?

Hey ACE, have you thought about flight instructing? Atleast get your hours up to 600/100 and you might be a little more marketable to other regionals, atleast of course if that's what you're ultimately going for. Try doing traffic watch as well... great way to build time.

I know they must be hurting for pilots in Nashville. I used to fly for a company that covered Flight Express trips when they couldn't staff their planes, which was all the time. Lots of fun all-night multi-leg trips. I learned more about weather radar and IFR flying on Flight Express legs than I did anywhere else. Good times.

The FLX pilots I met at Nashville seemed pretty cool too. One guy has a long layover and plays Warcraft all day. Another one works as a manager at a Wendy's while he's waiting on freight. All of them real friendly.
