Do you do much flying on reserve? Do you think is is any better on the SAAB?

What do they consider the base at LAX, easy to request or not?

You'll fly your butt off on RSV in the EMB, not as much but probably plenty in the Saab or CRJ.

LAX, easy to request but hard to get. Very senior and no openings there for newhires right now.

So if I pick I LA and get on reserve, does that mean I will be waiting for a while to actually fly, like when people call in sick or something Or will they base me in LA and make me fly out of a different city while on reserve, can I work as a flight instructor while I wait?

If you're flying your butt off then why do they have that long of a RSV?

LAX for Eagle is not looking too good. We have quite a few people make the jump from the Saab to the Emb from the LAX base. You could still get it but I doubt you'll be flying much. I we had about 5 new hires move to ORD from LAX Saab this past month. ORD is the most junior base right now and DFW is not looking too bad. My one advice is try not to make your commute as small as possible or none at all. Best of luck.

I doubt XJET will be hireing for the classes in May. They already have MANy in the pool that will be getting that class. MAy will go to the guys hired Oct-Dec 07 followed by anyone else but they are being very selective now.

Classes for the poolies will be in late March or April. Interviews are going on now for May. Just FYI.

Yes, Eagle is the only regional.

If you like charter, look at Champion Air. They have a DFW base.

If you have the experience, look at some of the fractionals.

As far as the majors, Southwest and American are obviously there, but they are not hiring. American will probably never hire again, at least as far as I can see. <sigh>

Forget about Champion Air. Spoke with several FE's at the Air Inc. job fair in DFW and said they were going belly-up real soon.
