DISCLAIMER: IF you live in base that is only served by Eagle then I could justify spending a year or two there.

I get paid more than all of my other friends at every other regional out there, and I have better work rules at Eagle than my other friends. I love working here, I have nothing negative to say about this place. Life is real hard, I have 15 days off a month and I have been here 2 years.

I've been with eagle for a little over two years now.(I live in one of eagle's bases) I have no complaints so far! I go to work, I get my automatic deposit when it's due, and I get 14 days off each month... There will always be unhappy people where ever you go, regardless of the career. For those people that only have negative things to say about eagle, maybe it's not a good fit for you, that's all.. Everyone knows that upgrades here are long, but why did you guys come interview and work for eagle in the first place?
check out the gouges and you'll be okay. Know your current aircraft.

I work for Eagle on the ground in ROC and have for the past 7yrs. I have been thinking about applying for a FO spot and was wondering how it would be to commute from the out stations to the base (I would pick ORD)? I see many say dont do it but there are about 5 CA and FO's that do from ROC....whats the big deal? Why so bad? MAybe I should talk with them?????

For what its worth, I just resigned with Eagle after 3 years to make the jump to JetBlue so I believe I'm qualified to give the lowdown on Eagle. 1.5 yrs on the SAAB, 1.5 on the EMJ. 99% of the crews, most of the CPs and most of the lower-level managers at Eagle are great people. Unfortunately, the big cheeses at AMR could really give 2 fat rats about Eagle. Case in point, last year AMRon hired the Bain group (a well respected consulting firm) to come in and study how to make Eagle more competitive, lower average seniority and generally make the place run smoother. To my knowledge, absolutely none of their recommendations were put into place & obviously nothing has changed. Even if upgrade rises at JB (2 yrs on the E190) I'll be a CA at blue WAY before I'd be one at Eagle. If your lowtime (> 1,000hrs) & Eagle calls go to the interview if for nothing else just for the experience. If its the only offer you've got take it. Most of the major, LCCs, & nationals know that the Eagle training department is TOP notch. Eagle training puts Chillytaco, Republic, & whoever elses mickey mouse training departments to shame. Keep applying were you want to be and go if the opporunity presents itself. Oh by the way, if you get hired at Eagle and get the SAAB you should be very thankful...most low timers should go to a Tprop for the experience you need it. Off rant now.
