Colgan has its ups and downs. Personally, I think it is your attitude that makes or breaks this company. If you can take a little punishment and be a man about some things it's ok. None of us like to be screwed. I was screwed many times being at a maintanance base. Most of the time I could take it but there were some times I was ready to punch the next scheduler that called me and hour before a 5 am show time!!! The experiences I gained there will be invaluable, as will most guys flying turboprops. We fly through the worst weather and smallest airports! I am just personally ready to move on thats why I left. I am going to a company that will make it easier to finish my degree.

So I ask him what he's doing over our 4-days off this week. Surprise, he's going to Cancun to pick up women and bang as many as he can.........OMG, get me out of here. This is yet another reason why kids don't belong up front in transport aircraft. Go and get life experience, then come talk to me. And to think I am flying w/ this person the entire month of January. omg... He wants to bang women in Cancun what is he thinking?? Ooops he is a guy SORRY!.... Be ****ed at him cause he wants to go to SkyBus... but for banging hot chicks down there?? Geezz stop being so jealous about younger guys... |
I don't think Cancun was the major problem with this kid's attitude. Calling in sick so you can play video games though...that's just plain irresponsible. I'm sure there are lots of under 20's out there who are responsible enough for the job, but the vast majority don't make the cut.

I am sure some people are going to rant and rave about this one, and I don't really give a rip.
But, myself and some others I know are 20, flight instructing, and can't go to a few of the regionals because they want you to be 21. Why is this. I understand if they would guarantee an upgrade in two years so that you would be 23, but I don't really get it. You can work at Horizon, ExpressJet, Republic and be 20, but you can't work at skywest, or even mesa? thanks. |
Tbone, fixed it for you.
Thanks so much. |
Anytime. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help you out.

Random guess but could be because ATP mins are 23yrs old.
