well that doesnt make a ton of sense but yes their date of hire at the interview here at skw is the date of their seniority.

This is what I heard out of the training dept the other day. This was to give them the higher seniority numbers in there class.
It was not meant to be a "favor" to the Skyway pilots. It was meant to appease the Midwest management so they could keep Skyway sufficiently staffed until the end and then have pilots go to Skywest. They would have had lots of Skyway guys leaving ASAP to go get a class over at Skywest before they had closed the doors.
I don't think you will see more than a handful of Skyway guys over at Skywest. Some might like the MKE base, but the writing is on the wall for Midwest. In the words of Timmy H., the Skywest deal "hasn't been as financially attractive as we had hoped." Midwest will be gone in a couple of years max.

Do you mean Midwest airlines will be gone in a couple years, or the Midwest contract with skw will be gone?

Midwest will be gone. They are cutting service left and right (mainline and connect), selling 80s and reducing the 717 flying.
