RJ Bridge for Eagle

Just got hired by Eagle a few days ago. Since my times are 550/50, they want me to attend a 3-week RJ transition course at either Regional Airline Academy (RAA) or FlightSafety. The course is entirely paid for, so there's no out-of-pocket expense on my end.

I'm just wondering if anyone has done this RJ transition and what their experience was. I have not heard much about RAA, but FlightSafety has a good reputation. Any feedback on either of these schools would be great.

If I had to choose I will go with FlightSafety, better training and curriculum, have a couple friends trained a FlightSafety and they were happy.
Could you tell me how did they offer you this job?
Im living in san diego and will like to apply to AE but I have my commercial and instrument from argentina, got a work permit last week, and now IM training to get FAA licenses.
My tt will be around 650 by the time I finish my training,so I need to wait to send my resume.
Do you think they will look at my resume?

They'll look at your resume if you have 50+ multi with that TT. ATP's RJ course gets reimbursed (the full cost) if you accept a class date and pass initial training.

woah ive never heard of eagle doing that..... im assuming its because of the low multi # ??

nicholasblonde 02-09-2008 09:15 AM

I'm 99% sure it goes "100 multi + RJ course = no TT req." and "50+ multi + RJ course = 400 TT req."

I know this b/c I know people who interviewed at Eagle after they took the RJ course who had 400TT and 50 multi. And they're getting their couse re-imbursed (with an 18 month commitment, of course).

It's the low multi time. Another interviewee had 600/200 and he just got a class date without having to do the RJ transition. I was kinda surprised by it too.

The class is not a reimbursable class. Eagle pays for everything up front. I have to pay for food. But travel, lodging and the RJ course is on Eagle's dime.

well im assuming everyone has heard the rumor of eagle picking up some 200 hour kid with like 10 multi a few weeks ago....hope they are making him take the course too

they also make you sign a 18 month contract for doing the extra training before their training. And I am not entirely sure if they pay you for going to flight safety or RAA.

I heard Eagle is picking people up that are still in college and dont have availability for MONTHS, yet are still getting hired with class to begin in like 4 months........?

18 month contract?? for a stupid RJ transition course???? what a load of BS!! guess it doesnt really matter when they know your going to be there for at least 3 years before you get sick of waiting for upgrade and decide to go someplace else
