Mesa Update
#1
Dear Pilot Team:
Mesa has one of the quickest FO to CA upgrade programs in the industry. We are projecting the need for April classes and have found that we currently do not have enough active bidders for IAD based Captains.
We are trying to evaluate all recruiting, training and seat lock options including the potential of hiring street Captains (if necessary), to make the most beneficial decision going forward. To properly understand the best course of action we need to better understand where each of you would bid should we run a bid in the near future.
so the CRJ upgrade went as low as 7 months only becouse nobody Jr to him even bid for it. Finally the attrition and hirring of low timers is catching up. should make for a interseting year.

Well as long as you have 21 year old super pilots that wont listen to advice they will not have aproblem filling vacancies.
I just had a conversation with a coworker that is going to a Mesa open house tomorrow, I pointed out some of the common issues, like lack of days off, poor pay and contract and he said thats fine, I like to fly so it doesnt matter if they overwork me... Good luck

Your right. There should be a rule against 21 year old pilots. Its ruining our lives. However, all the guys I know there say they went there because they were too "old" (50's) to get hired anywhere else. Maybe its these 50 something super pilots that are jacking us.

Does Mesa have a training contract? If not, I just got hired at CBP, but I don't know when I start yet, maybe I could go get a type first? "Oh, yeah, sorry, I sort of forgot I had this other job lined up..."
