My biggest complaint about people and uniforms are shoes and Shirts.
Please buy a fitted shirt that actually fits. Next Please buy yourselves a nice pair of shoes no Sketchers with 2in rubber soles that have work-boot tread. My first Professional flying job I alwas made sure I looked like a professipnal the captain I flew with on the other hand always wore these HiTech comat boots and it absolutly drove me crazy, besides the worn out dickies pants, the guy looked absolutley pitiful. You guys are Professionals dress like it.

We can't dress like professionals because we are not paid like professionals.

I agree, I see pilots wearing the "skechers" type shoes/boots with a 2in rugged sole built for mountain hiking you're talking about.

Being a military guy, the backpack in uniform will always look unprofessional to me, our Service Dress Blues (navy) is almost identical to the airline pilot suit and ew would look absolutely rediculous if we wore a backpack in that uniform. Only recently did the navy begin allowing backpacks for students in uniform, and there are rules governing style and how its to be worn.

Oh, wow, very cute...but I like the Dora one better :p
Backpacks arent the best but one has to make due with what you got. I put my overnight bag in the belly of the plane but I want my lunch or other ends and odd things with me up front. After putting all my Jepps and other things in my flight bag I just dont have room to stuff in personal things. Now, once everyone goes to a paperless cockpit and the flightbag contents chages then I can see ditching the backpack. I agree, I dont think we look as professional but I do think that it is justified to carry.

You hit the nail on the head. Tell some airman in Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Germany, or even the USA that he's not paid like a professional and should look like crap. (You know, the ones being sent off to war for $1300 a month, and looking like they just walked out of a military uniform shop). They'll tell you it's all about PRIDE, PROFESSIONALISM and self worth. If you want to look like crap, go ahead, but don't expect to get much respect. You've apparently not earned it.:rolleyes:

BTW, I've seen pilots being interviewed at CAL who were shot down because they'd been seen walking around looking like crap in their "other" company uniform. CAL didn't want to continue promoting their "look". But hey, if you're paid slob wages, then please dress like one, and see where it gets you.
