Pilot Fatigue/Mesa in the news
For those of you following the recent incident involving GO! in Hawaii, KGMB in Honolulu just did a story on Mesa and pilot fatigue. Here is the link:

Food for thought..
Take the same scenario in China where Mesa is propsed to start ops. I wonder what the Chinese would do if a Mesa jet wandered for 15-25 minutes without radio call responses. FF |
Lil late with posting the story, but it never gets old hearing about Mesa's antics :D

:rolleyes:Does this mean the pay rates will also go down in China?Bit surprised China would allow Mesa to operate in their country

They will be paid in cat food, with yearly bonuses in steamed dumplings and Geberal Tso's cat. Maybe scabjets can head over there and do some "work"...

I don't know about you guys, but all joking aside, I blame the FAA for allowing this 8hr rest circus to go on as long as it has.
Fact: The NTSB has been trying to persuade the FAA to change it's policy based on the findings of the corpex accident in kirksville, MO (among others). Fact: The unions (ALPA in particular) have been trying to get the FAA to change it's position on it, also based on independent studies, as well as, it's own data showing the adverse effects of such reduce rest time in today's more demanding airline environment. Fact: Sadly the Airlines (collectively) apparently have more lobbying power, and would love to see the law stay same....J.O. in particular. Let's not crucify these guys for being victims of an outdated policy intended for the pilots in the 70's doing 2 legs a day; not the current scenario. |

From the country that puts lead in toys to save a few bucks. Come on...it's a perfect match!;) Bond: I read in another post that they were off duty at about 2pm the day before. IF that is true, I doubt the reduced rest issue will see the light of day. |
