There will be two Saab 2000's operating 121 in the US (Alaska) very soon. FWIW.
45 pax and bags Full tanks - 9400 lbs fuel. 365 KTAS less than 1900 lbs/hr in cruise Active Noise Reduction cabin that works. Pro Line 4, 6 tube cockpit, full FADEC - no prop levers at all... Great plane - wish there were more of them around. |
Im gonna miss the Q.

The only problem with the SAAB 340B+ is it gets weight restricted so severely it was never fun explaining to the 15 people not going on the plane why they wheren't going.

Me too. Especially lessee...POWERPLANT messages, apu's that won't start in the cold, airplanes that are too hot in the cabin while at the same time cold enuff on the flight deck to see your breath, and of course the ever ubiquitous use of the freaking rudder trim. Ahh but I will miss 425......NOT! |
Sorry you didn't like the Q. I'm curious how long you were on it. We're in a lull with those problems right now but curious if they'll be coming back in a year or so.
As for the rudder trim I kinda like flying my plane so I don't mind it so much. |

Aren't there a couple Saab 2000s in the US operating in a corporate configuration? I seem to remember seeing one somewhere.

There are two in the US AFAIK operated by NASCAR teams. At one point they had been owned by GM. Frankly, if I were a corporate operater of that type I think I'd do a used CRJ-200. More spares, etc. |
Hendrick Motorsports has the Saab 2000s.
