Default voluntary LOA

Hi all,
Anyone ever hear of a pilot getting a voluntary Leave of Absence? I have an opportunity to make about $65K over about a 10 week period this summer (& every summer), and as a regional FO that's about 2 years pay... I am guessing it's not likely but may be worth resigning for....Any ideas???

Sean

Depends on your company. XJT is currently offering them and all the terms and conditions are laid out in the contract, so you know what exactly what it is.

Is your company over or understaffed? Summer is usually the busiest time of the year for pilots...

Work 10 weeks, make $65K..... I'd say make that your regular gig and do some light contract flying during the rest of the year. That's a pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

SKW is over staffed right now. My guess is that they would approve it, get the form from SKOL and go see your regional CP.

Sounds like you won't be gone long enough to need a trip to the sim, so it shouldn't cost them anything. You'd probably keep your travel bennies.

Just out of curiosity (If you don't mind sharing) how are you going to make that much money in 10 weeks?
