But don't worry the aircraft are fully automated and will take care of themselves. . . dang almost said that with a straight face :)

I know more about Mesa than I care to. Been working here for 18 months broski.

Those scary candidates are everywhere, not just Mesa. Not taking up for the company, but I believe we have a fine pilot group.

When I catch wind of the reqt's, I'll pass it along to you guys. Brand new -900's out of JFK...I bid it yesterday.

If they hire one street captain because they don't want to pay to train the FO for the upgrade then pay to train a new FO then they are bypassing people and ALPA should fight the hell out of it. If you're an FO at mesa and meet the min requirements to hold CA and they hire someone off the street over you then I'd be filing a grievance right now.

TD, ever heard of MPD? Mesa has hired a lot of LOW TIME (250 hours or so) FO's who can't possibly have the hours to upgrade yet. I'm sure that, IF Mesa is bypassing FO's who have the times to upgrade, then ALPA's doing what they can but I'm almost positive they are not. One simple reason, Mesa doesn't have that kind of a pilot pool.

There's no one in that boat right now. The email said anyone with the time would be awarded the upgrade. There are B1900 guys who are being held back (meaning they've been awarded the left seat of the jet, but won't be released from the 1900 to go to class). From what I understand, they have begun to let those guys go to class as they shrink and eventually eliminate the fleet.

It's like the military I wouldn't hire on as a Strt Cptn unless I had a contract that said in specific terms the grounds my my hire.

Now lets just hope they hire people that speak english!
