If this is a serious question then....

It doesn't. A stock is an instrument of equity. A bond is an instrument of debt. Sometimes the term "penny-stock" is used to refer to a stock that is trading below a certain price. However, to be technically correct, this term would probably be a misnomer in the case of MAG.

For what it's worth, I'd much rather be holding Mesa bonds than stock right now! (But am glad to not have either.)

If Mesa does file CH 11 do you think they will continue to fly some of the UAL flying under protection of the court, or just stop flying like ATA?

Thanks. It was a serious question. I guess to be more specific I mean that at a certain point, brokers have to get you to sign a document stating that they are not pushing the "penny stocks" on you. Your purchase is being made on your behalf. I was also thinking of all the shares of DAL that became worthless and then DAL reissued stock.

I think if I were to hold bonds it would be bonds for the "F". That's Ford moderators....Not the other "F" word. :D

I would guess that what you're talking about applies if a stock is traded over the counter (OTC) rather than on an exchange. Each exchange has criteria that may cause a company's stock to be de-listed, such as in the case of DAL on their most recent bankruptcy filing.

When was the last time a court protected Mesa?

Im thinking Skybus scenario. JO may take leave (I personally like pitchforks and torches outside his office saying that the mob would like to 'talk') and then someone from the bottom moves on up before the end.

Kind of like Fun With Dick & Jane...ya know?

Go away MESA, please go away.
