Why is ASA getting rid of these in 100 bb oil environment?
It just doesn's seem to make any sense.

Because they are on lease from DL, and DL is not renewing the leases. At this stage of the game, the ATR's cost more to maintain than they save in fuel costs.

I heard they'll be flying around in an all white paint job a few months before they get axed from the fleet. So that should be a sign its just around the corner.

I sort of doubt that. It would cost way too much money to paint them and pull them out of service a few weeks/months later. Makes more sense to just leave them alone and let the owner's take care of them when they are returned. Who knows though, things almost never make sense at ASA.

According to the few people I have talked to they will be going to get repainted in the next few months.

this is true according to what we were just told in recurrent. delta can't return the planes in their paint scheme.

i wonder if there will be a penalty for returning them full of pictures of naked women. someone has been buying quality stuff lately

I already miss those ATR's. I will miss flying a real airplane!

I was told we're flying them to Mexico to get painted? Haha, where are they really being repainted?
