The 1900D was a blast to fly, especially empty. Lots of excess HP.

Yeah the 1900D flies like a truck. Very forgiving and you can keep it at 248 till the outer marker and still place it right on the numbers. CRJ-200 is fun to fly as well.

Isn't this an Oxymoron? :D I don't think this plane exist. Quote from my primary instructor 20 years ago..."son, what makes a plane fly.....money".

I have a couple thousand hours in both the ERJ and CRJ, and about 500 hours in the 1900D, and I can tell you I enjoyed flying the ERJ the best. But bringing the 1900 into KeyWest, as the sun was setting and seeing everyone out on the pier below...still is one of my favorite memories. I never liked the CRJ, and I flew all three variants.

I've flown the CRJ, the E170, and my personal favorite: The Dash 8. It wasn't on the original list, but as far as the pure joy of flying, the dash was the best. The jets have better schedules and better destinations with more variety, but the Dash was by far my favorite to fly.

That's for the ideological scenario lesson, but that wasn't the point of the post.

Great! Any and all commercial types welcome. I'm just trying to do my due diligence first. Wouldn't want to make a bad decision if I can help it.

I've over 1000 hours in all four and the SAAB gets my vote hands down. All it needs is an APU and another couple hundred horses per side and it would border on perfection.

ATRs are fun. I've heard they're more roomy than the CRJ up front, but haven't compared them myself. We don't have to worry about all of that "FMS" stuff, or "Going fast", or "GPS".
