UA charges a mileage fee. ORD to LAX is probably $15-20. First class is far more expensive. You can avoid this by jumpseating instead of non-reving.
DAL was supposed to start charging a mileage fee, but they dropped that idea for the time being. You pay a $50 annual fee (covers you, spouse, kids, parents). Parents and buddy passes on DAL pay a mileage fee and taxes...about half of a normal coach fare. On DAL, parents don't pay a mileage fee only people on buddy passes. |

I thought all flight crew (pilots/flight attendants) got benefits on UA/DL/YX???
United is free in coach, DL is free for both after paying a $50 service fee each year to activate you PPR number. YX is free for MKE, ORD, and DEN, all others pay $10 per segment. Parents pay the same on UA, pay a yield fare on DL, and $10 per segment on YX. |

Actually, UA no longer charges for coach only first class.
On DAL, parents don't pay a mileage fee only people on buddy passes. But for DAL, are sure they got rid of the parents fee? My folks had to pay last time. I think they are suppoosed to start payroll deduction eventually. |

Yes, that's correct about UAL. I forgot they changed it.

I think you are right that they are supposed to start payroll deduction sometime but it seems to keep getting put off. Maybe they will finally give up and not charge. |
