Yeah thanks MW for the illegal implementation and, lack of automation, and the fact that no one other than some of the people in scheduling and management knows what parameters this thing is operating under.

This is will be just another grievance we win.

flynavyj 04-28-2008 06:11 AM

and in its current form, flica = glorified and prettied up crew web

just MW using smoke and mirrors, then speaking from his lips and writing from his (never mind) to explain just how close he was to making things 100% automated.....sure, i'd believe we were buying eagle before i believe what he tells us.

Foxcow 04-28-2008 05:41 PM

I'd never trust anything that nazi has to say.

the divestiture of AE is not transferring the equipment. Just might be doable by TSA or at least the 25 CRJ's to get out of Scope.

Pff, that's not TSA... If Hulas gets CRJ's, you know damn well where they're going...

threegreen 04-30-2008 02:28 PM

this thread is not going anywhere...clearly its not going to happen, its common sense!

Hey TSA guys, just out of interest, what has your company told you about the MIA flying you are starting in May/June? Where are you guys going to park, who is going to park/cater/service your aircraft and will you have a crew lounge?

Im truly not trying to flame anything, just interested in what you guys have been told...

flynavyj 04-30-2008 04:56 PM

haven't been told anything, i'd assume that everything will be done by either AA or AE as far as service goes, if AE chooses to not service the airplane (id' doubt that, as AA might be very unhappy with them for such a choice, and that is the hand that feeds them/us) But honestly, haven't heard a thing, in fact, i don't even think i have charts for MIA yet....

Also, don't think theres any word on a crew lounge as of yet, as i don't think it's going to be a base, nor is it supposed to be hub and spoke (as i understand it) just through station flying.

skihigh2002 04-30-2008 06:44 PM

MIA isn't even in the Ops Specs yet...

JayHub 04-30-2008 07:12 PM

I heard MIA will be a reduced overnight...but everyone seems to be unclear...it definitely won't be a base, and i can't see any reason for us having a crew room there...Apparently the only reason we're doing this flying is because eagle wants to change their route structure somewhat to incorporate more flying out of ORD......to be honest I'm just looking at MIA as one more airport in my jepp binder....

And to the folk who think we're gonna buy Eagle.....yeah...that makes sense...

Salukipilot4590 05-01-2008 05:48 AM

Yeah I've heard the same reduced overnight thing as well. Maybe someday MIA will have the same overnight PIT has, like 18 hours or more. Then again whenever I'm in PIT I cant stop looking at the big TV!

UNIVERSAL HD!!!!

But he also cautioned that AMR would have to make sure a divestiture of the carrier "does not merely become an expensive financing, but rather one that liberates value and takes into account the impact on American." Market Watch Oct 17 2007
Analyst James Higgins of Solebury Research LLC recently estimated Eagle's value at $1.15 billion, CBN news Nov 29 2007
That would be one heck of a Loan, I wonder what the payments on that would be. Lets see, old pilots, old aircraft and nothing bigger then 70 seats.......a contract that goes until 2012.....

Don't worry. That overnight will be switched to some hole like KLIT as soon as the contract is up.

How many times have you heard a captain say, "This was a good overnight when we stayed downtown..."

Whats wrong with the LIT overnight?

We have access to the following (In no particular order):

-Running water
-Clean sheets and towels
-Free wireless internet
-Bar in the hotel
-Transportation to and from restaurants for free

I'll take it. :D

Pilotpip 05-01-2008 08:23 AM

Transportation to where? Waffle House?

Boston's. Its three minutes away. Literally.

Pilotpip 05-01-2008 08:59 AM

Must not have been open when I spent my 26 hours there over Christmas Day. It was either waffle house, or the restaurant in the airport.

That PIT overnight was sweet.

BYUFlyr 05-01-2008 09:20 AM

According to my scheduled MIA overnight, its 18 hrs, definately not RR. I guess that can change, but as of now, it's what my schedule shows.

Don't worry - it'll be RR by the time you pull up in the MX-delayed a/c LoL. Just messin' with ya. Enjoy! Sounds like fun :)

Its possible. They are building a hotel in the same building so who knows how long its been there. The Waffle House is right across the street.

ExperimentalAB 05-01-2008 09:43 AM

Mmm...Waffle House!! Makes any overnight a good one! Yum...
