TSA to buy out Eagle???

Heard a rumor from some buddies in the training department at Trans States that management is asking AMR for a loan to buy out Eagle...

Been hearing this a lot around St. Louis....

If this were to happen?...

What do you think?

RJ Pilot 04-24-2008 04:33 PM

Date of Hire. Let the good times roll!

cfii2007 04-24-2008 04:35 PM

So does that mean upgrade time will go down?

ERJdude 04-24-2008 04:35 PM

hmm sounds like the regionals want a chance to play usair-amwest merger...

Flyboy8784 04-24-2008 04:41 PM

As my dear friend Lil Jon would say.....HHHHAAAAAWHHHHAAAATTTTTT?????

Kinda funny how that works....cuz wasnt TSA was flying for TWA...who was acquired by AMR....now the tables have turned

BoilerUP 04-24-2008 04:42 PM

TSA is what, a quarter the size of Eagle?

No, that means Eagle 9-20yrs Captains will be displacing the 3-5yr Ca at TSA.

labbats 04-24-2008 04:52 PM

Never happen.

I love the TSA training center

always the best rumors.

I also heard Uncle Hulas was thinking about buying Frontier, and we have 5 787's on order for Go Jet because they only have on pay scale for 60+ seater jets!

Gchamp3 04-24-2008 05:07 PM

I fail to see any reason why this would ever happen.

TSA = 50 Aircraft
AE = 298 Aircraft

AMR buying TSA and incorporating it into the Eagle brand sounds more probable to me. But I'm new to this business.

willflyforcash 04-24-2008 05:12 PM

It is more likely that TSA (Transportation Security Admin) will buy Eagle than TSA (Trans Status Airlines).

Pokerpilot 04-24-2008 05:30 PM

Not going to happen Hulas will never take such a big risk with money. I can see him buying a very small part of AE or just get awarded routes to fly in the East. Well, if it does I hope they staple them to the bottom of the seniority list :) I love my postion right now.

DREAM ON GUYS......

flynavyj 04-24-2008 06:23 PM

haha, that's a good one...i won't say it won't happen, just because i wouldn't wanna be the idiot going "wow, i was wrong" (like i was about the success of the segway).....Would suck for TSA guys, going to the bottom of a very very very long and very very very stagnated senority list....it'd be hell on wheels while people fought to keep their positions, lol...would suck.

You'll learn very quickly that the training center goons brew the strongest kool-aid and they drink GALLONS of the stuff!

fastsail 04-24-2008 06:27 PM

We would decimate the TSA senority list. Then our MEC would break Hulas. He would be sorry he ever got into aviation :)

Foxcow 04-24-2008 06:31 PM

Yeah right.

grossole 04-24-2008 06:40 PM

Right. Absolutely.

ExperimentalAB 04-24-2008 06:49 PM

That's a real winner y'all cooked up there, guys LoL ;):D

buddies8 04-24-2008 06:58 PM

Try and then find out if it will happen that way or not!

The same way your MEC decimated American for giving TSA the Miami flying?

OH NO HE DI'INT!

BURflyer 04-24-2008 07:55 PM

TSA does have good credit and good relations with AA but buying Eagle would be too big of a move and that's not how TSA does business. We're probably looking at some of the assets just like most other regionals I would imagine are. I know some of us that live out West sure wouldn't mind flying the LAX ERJ operation.

markvolkjr 04-24-2008 09:10 PM

this is like comparing the 1lb coconut to the 1oz swallow, the 1 oz swallow can't carry a 1lb coconut, but maybe there are 2 swallows...

threegreen 04-25-2008 12:13 AM

i am just happy with tsa running their own thing and not buying any1 out...we dont need 300+ acs on property...we will take some mesa erjs, but not eagle. just does not make sense

African or European?

Seriously. Hulas likes his money. He won't spend that much money to buy a bunch of planes and pilots making that kind of money. Won't happen.

As long as he keeps Eagle on a separate certificate with a different website, he can start them all over at the bottom again. I think we've proved ALPA will roll over on that one.

spartanpilot 04-25-2008 02:07 PM

I heard that compass is going to buy republic........ and pinnacle is going to buy commair........and PSA is going to buy TSA to make PTSA...... and skywest is going to buy frontier. That is just the word on the street or at least that is what all the pre-privates are saying at the flight school.

Radials Rule 04-25-2008 03:42 PM

I won't speculate on this rumor nor do I have a business mind. However, situations like this has happened before. i.e. Mega Corporation wants to unload a division. Mega Corporation loans money to Mom and Pop Co to buy the division that Megacorp wants to unload. Mom and Pop Co has a certain amount of time to make it profitable or attain a certain level of revenue as a condition of the loan. If they fail, Megacorp takes it all.

Im gonna call BS on this one. They wouldnt survive...crew sched. at TSA only has so many fax machines and so much paper. That would mean Hulas would have to invest in new fax machines and paper, we alllllll no that is no going to happen.

willflyforcash 04-25-2008 04:49 PM

TSA, in the words of Walter on The Big Lebowski "You're out of your league, Donnie! Shut the *&$% up, Donnie!"

ExperimentalAB 04-25-2008 08:02 PM

Yeah...I remember the times of faxing everything in...just to find that the document(s) had never been received

What a pain in the arse that was. Good riddance!

You're right. Good riddance. We don't use faxes anymore.

No more paper faxes at Hulas Airlines thanks to MW. Everything is now done on Flica.

LOL!!! awsome reference! it would be like TSA saying, "We are no longer the knights who say NI!!!, we are now... the nights who say ikikipatangsubbiodwamang.."

TSA didn't build the F-ing railroads! They peed on my rug and started GoJet!
