With those times how about something like charter/fractional etc? At least something a bit more comfortable until the majors pick up again if that's where you're trying to get. I don't think I'd subject myself to the regional lifestyle with that flight time.

[\quote]With your times and over 1000 turb PIC, Why not go Major or Frac? more money.[/quote]

Trying but like a said the offers arent't pouring in.

I figure get a job somewhere for now. Then wait till a better offer comes in.

In the mean time the company that hires me gets a guy that will do a good job for them while I'm flying for them and I get to keep my skills sharp.

Thanks for the link. I'll go check them out.

agreed, thought about going corporate/fractional? I got friends at pinnacle; they are low timers. and they enjoy it but what do they know right ...

You have to live over in Dubai. Ain't no way I'm living over there. Yes money is pretty good and it's a secure job.

I've gotten solicitation form those overseas recruiters to sign up for their overseas recruting services, but I don't want to live overseas.

Most other foreign airline you have to live over there.

ok, so my guess is that with your time and not getting calls you have been out of the game for a while. if so then yeah pinnacle might be the place for you. you will have to fly right seat for 100hrs and then you can apply for upgrade. once there and you start getting some recent flight time i am sure you will look a lot better to the other companies.

like spooled said however if you come here and upgrade within 2 or 3 months you will be on reserve for a very long time. an easy way to explain that is everyone that was hired before you will have seniority over you. even if you are a captain, an fo hired before you will be more senior. so everytime you think you are getting close to holding a line an fo will upgrade and push you back. just some things to think about.

and as far as things went with the professionalpilot he is far from high time. he only had around 2300hrs when he first got here, and was upset when either he, or they, or both got confused, misinformed, or whatever about the time he would need to upgrade. from what i hear he is going to fly a couple hundred hours more in the right seat and then move to the left as soon as he can.

Actually no. I've only been out of work for 3 weeks due to my previous airline going belly up.

And yes I know what you are saying about me being junior to an FO if I make Capt quickly... However, with a little luck, I will get a better offer from another carrier before too too long. But I'll still do a good job for pinnacle while employed there (for the record).

And after reading almost the entire "professinal pilot thread", yes, I see where he went wrong. It seems he didn't have the "PIC" time to upgrade without this "mentor" program. I don't think I need this mentor program. Besides having the 5200 hrs TT, 1023 PIC turbine, my Total PIC is 2100, and over 3000 SIC turbine. So Again I think I can upgrade with out help from mentors.

Am I correct?

What do you think

wow, sorry to hear you were at one of the guys who went out of business. let me guess, ata? our chief pilot is an ex ata guy. not that it means anything, just side info i guess.

no you wont need the mentor program. anyone with over 3500 hours right off the street can upgrade once they have 100hrs in a pinnacle rj.

hey i am not going to tell you dont come here. if you need the job to pay the bills then by all means take care of business. are things tough here right now? yes. when will we have a contract? who knows. but if you need the job to keep the family afloat then welcome aboard.
