5.1.08 Orlando bound! ASA adds MCO to list of hubs 05/01/2008 ASA will begin operating four new lines of CRJ200 flying out of Orlando International Airport Thursday as part of our May schedule. An average of 10.7 departures per day from MCO will take customers to AVL, EYW, HSV, LEX, LIT, MSY, NAS, PFN, RDU, RIC, SDF, TLH and TYS. And rightfully so. Back when Comair closed the MCO base and made 20 year people start to commute all because CHQ would do it 2 dollars cheaper I knew it was the start of the race to the bottom whipsaw. It's been musical regionals down there ever since. I'm sure the Comair folks who had been based there for years providing excellent connection services would have liked to have stayed as they had grown roots in the area.
